    Fraternising with the Bank Manager

So, I'm about as skint as Rowanda, and need to strap in the ol' silver tongue to see if I can get any compassion out of the bank Manager (ie, feed 'em some bullshit about how I'm trying really hard to sort myself out )

I'm wondering whether or not to shave first - "I can't even afford a razor, man!"

    The plan is this:

I walk into the bank, cool, calm, and collected.
Await my turn to see the bank manager, and sit myself down across from him in the office.
Then the I'll explain the situation, whilst wailing and crying, and much sniffing and snivelling..

    Will it work?

It has before, but maybe the novelty has worn off by now

I have no idea if it'll work..

hmm, so why am I posting this?

Oh yeah, because i'm bored and trying to delay going out and looking for a job, because it'll be another non-productive job, full of "no sorry we're not hiring at the moment" or "sorry but we're looking for someone slightly older/more experienced/not you"...

so, Res, go for it.. if it works it works, and it if it doesnt it doesnt..

    lol

Sorry for the shite advice, but thats all i can say...

    Good luck, my man

Thanks for the good luck wishes, guys

But it seems that I have lost my touch
Even though I cunningly stashed an onion in my pocket (to help with the flood of tears), it was to no avail.

It seems that we live in an age where a person can go to work, earn a decent wage, and still not be able to afford to live - even in the most modest of terms.
Of course, my petrol bill has gone up by £20 a month, and then there's the 'poll tax' (why the fuck we all pay that is beyond me ) which has risen by £120pa - all of which is not recompensed with higher wages

I mean, here I am...I don't drink, I don't go out to the pub, I haven't got expensive tastes in clothes (still having to wear the school uniform, it's that long since I bought any new clothes), I eat like an Ethopian (on a good day), and don't have Sky, holidays, or anything else that seemingly everyone else around me can indulge in...and I still can't survive!
    WTF!

After I have paid all my bills, I am left with £30 a month to myself!
Out of which I have to buy any 'incidentals' - like bread and milk and such

So what is the point of going to work, when all I'm doing is paying it all to someone else (ie, the council, the tax man)??

Of course, it doesn't help when the bank sends you a letter telling you that 'there are insufficient funds in your account to pay x...please rectify the situation.....by the way, you have been charged £30 for this letter, plus you will incurr a standard administration fee of £45 for going over your agreed overdraft limit..so you gotta find an extra £75 on top of the already stretched budget that you are working from!'

Gee, thanks for telling me something that I already knew, and thanks for charging me even more money for the service of such!

    I just don't get it.

Then, I see society's lazy bastards all around me, living the life of Riley on benefits that I AM PAYING FOR, who have Sky, the latest fashions, and are able to piss it up down the fucking pub every night of the fucking week!

Hmmm... we do live in a fair society, don't we?

AND..I can't even afford to have a smoke to chill out!!!

I'm kinda hoping that the bailiffs come round today...cos then I can break their stupid fucking necks, and tell em to piss off...which, believe me, I will!

I'm off to have a cup of tea...one of the last luxuries that I, a contributor to the welfare of this country, can afford to do...just about!

I do like the look of Canada, but is it cold there?

I don't like the cold at all

Yeah, I've spoken to a few ex-pats that moved to Canada, and they say the same thing...I guess it's more a case of the workers getting rewarded, rather than penilised, as is the case in this country.

Res, again, im sorry to hear about your problems...

My dad started working at 14, and didnt take a single day off until he was 41 I think.. then when him and my mom got divorced, she took half of everything he owned, including all his savings, plus a huge monthly cheque for child support.. so, after roughly 40 years of working and saving, my dad was basically skint.. so, he tried getting an extra job but then taxes/rent/etc went up, and he was no better off than when he was working one job... he used to always have money, and was always happy.. now he's a broke, depressed alcoholic.. this system sucks, everything about it sucks.. im actually pretty anxious about settling into the 'work ethic' mentality, because it means i'll struggle to survive, and pay taxes towards a system which makes the rich get richer and the poor get poorer..

it sucks and i hate it

thats why im gonna be an author, become a millionaire, give half my earnings to charity and never have to work again

    lol i wish

Yep, it is always the way.

I mean, I have never signed on the dole. I've been fairly lucky to get work, but even when I went through a spell of no work (about 2 months), I never signed on.
I haven't got a problem with people who are physically unable to work - it's not their fault - but to see these young lay-abouts that litter our streets, scabbing from the social for anything that they can get, just makes my blood boil. Especially when I (and many many others) are just scrapping through on their wages.
Ffs, this country is more concerned with making sure that those lazy feckers are alright, that the people who are contributing seem to lose out, time and time again.

I mean, I can't even get a fucking dentist - I have to go private (£££'s) - whilst the lazy scum-suckers get everything that they need handed on a plate! Where's the justice in that?

And it's so bad now, that the next generation are subconsciously programmed into thinking that the state owes them, anmd why should they goto work!
It's hand out after hand out, and it is we earners that foot the bill.

I pay (on average) £110 a week in taxes!
That £110 a week, would make my life sooo much better (still wouldn't be able to afford to go mad, but at least I could take my kids out, once in a while, or run my house without having to sacrifice one thing or another)
Then there's the 'poll tax'...£100 a month...what for?..so that the council can tidy up after the low-life scum, who are 'bored', smash the fucking place up!

The trouble with society these days, is that there is too much of a 'what's in it for me?' mentality. Theses kids can't be bothered to do well at school - why should they? Their parents probably didn't, or at least don't give a fuck about their children, and besides, what's the point of getting a good education and then a job...why work, when they can scab off the state...just like their parents!
And so the gene-pool grows...until, one day, people are gonna revolt..

I would certainly be in favour of a national revolution - a bit drastic? Maybe, but democracy sure doesn't seem to work!
We vote in a government to work FOR us, and instaed they do what the hell they please..regardless of the general concensus of opinion.
We didn't want to go to war...
The governement ignored the public, and did it anyway....

AND WE WILL BE PAYING FOR IT THROUGH THE NOSE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME!!!

And the elderly (I'm talking WW2 vets, here) are treated like shit!
In my opinion, they should have a free life...completely free!!!
How many oldies will be dieing of hypothermia this year, because it will be a toss-up between paying the poll-tax, or getting the heating on?!?!?!?

    Absolutely dispicable

They fought for our freedom...and they are treated like 3rd class citizens (2nd class being workers, 1st class being social-scammers).

    It is beyond my comprehension!!!
