im not sure whether a thread has been made about this previously or not, but if so - i'll make another.

ive been smoking for roughly three years and, although it feels as if it has been forever to me - the reality is that i am still a newbie. the problem is that whenever im out smoking with friends (who are all much more experienced) i sometimes feel like an ass because there is all of this terminology that goes along with smoking that im unaware of.

and since there is not exactly a dictionary for these matters (that i have access to, at least), i decided to make this thread for everyone on the board to share and learn about the phrases/terminology that they have picked up throughout the years.

just list the ones you know..

my list (short but sweet):

bogart: someone who hogs the weed
thunder lungs: its pretty obvious - someone who sucks down most of the weed in one hit (also associated with bogart)
clam bake: generally done in a car.. but basically its smoking in any small closed in area so that the smoke is trapped with you (yum)
420: there is a lot of history to this that ive heard.. and ive even seen a thread here about the history.. but it has come to be a symbol for weed or the act of smoking weed.
blunt: weed wrapped in cigar paper
bong: smoking device where the smoke fills up an area and then is sucked out all at once
cotton mouth: when your mouth gets dry after smoking, usually comes along with munchies
munchies: weed makes you hungry, it "gives you the munchies"


blah blah im sure there are a lot that i know that im missing but other people can add.

it would be cool if we made a cannabis dictionary for the boards ;p haha

Me and my friend have some that we made up ourselves... it goes along the lines of this.

If we want to smoke a joint/blunt we say to each other (so noone knows what we are talking about)- "Hey, do you want to go talk to Titus?"
The reason being joints/blunts need to be tight as fuck, or titus fuck, so we say Titus for short.

If we want to smoke out of a pipe/bong we say to each other- "Hey, is there anyone in the bathroom?"
The reason for that is what is in a bathroom? A toilet-BOWL? Umm yeah, kinda like secret code for pot smokers if they don't want other people to know what they are doing.

Also, people say they want "greens" a lot and stuff, which deals with the first hit. But we just say, I want to be greenskeeper, or I've got greenskeeper... just another way to say it, plus we made it up and it feels good to use lingo you made yourself.

We call people who smoke everyone else's weed SNoop. If anyone remembers Half Baked Snoop Dog was the "scavenger" smoker. They always just seem to show up when someone has packed a bowl or rolled joint of their own stuff. But never has stuff of his own. I know a kid just like that. Annoyning as hell.

Lightweights.....always the best ppl to split a 20 with that is to be smoked all at one time or in one day. basicly after a joint or a sweet they can't smoke anymore that day....or they start turning into "greeners" or "caspers" also appropiate to use for alcohol when they can't even drink a six pack in a day

spliff in my vocabulary means rolled with tobbacco (usually make one if you have really sticky bud that doesn't burn well)

That encyclopedia was nice. I never knew what a 'dub' was, and for some reason it had 'booty: another name for pirate treasure.' Weird. As for slang unique to me and my: cashed can refer to bloodshot eyes in addition to being ash, and a pirate is someone wearing sunglasses, a low brimmed hat, or long bangs to hide their cashed eyes. Nosies are when you blow backward through a pipe, into someone's face, but that seems to be widely known. In the end, what I guess I'm trying to say is that the day is coming when a single, original carrot will be pregnant with revolution.

doobie, dub, doob, jay, johnny, joint, rocket are the basic terms for that. When looking for marijuana we say greens, greenage, pot, dope, ganja, wanna, bud.

we say pooched or beat when its ashed. We say take a..hit, reef, whack, toke, slang. An ammy is someone who needs very little weed to get fucked, sometimes just called trippers.

Griblies - the shake left at the bottom of a bag

stanky - used to describe good bud

beat - can be used to describe the condition of red eyes

:cool: Well the one thing that I have noticed since I have been coming to this site is that all around the world we have different meanings when it comes to cannabis talk. I live in New Zealand, and most of the sayings I hear in this site i have never heard before....eg,

CANNABIS==Dak, Greenstone, Stickies, Pot etc
HAVING A JOINT==Safety Meeting

Now my mind has gone blank....lol, hate it when that happens. But over here we have a method of smoking cannabis, its called SPOTTING. Its hard to explain but in the near future I will do a thread with pics of how this is done. :D :cool: :D

I've heard all the terms used aboved.. I think it depends on where you're from.. diff areas have diff terms. All work though. Sometimes its good to know diff terms.. you know mix it up a bit.
