im not sure whether a thread has been made about this previously or not, but if so - i'll make another.

ive been smoking for roughly three years and, although it feels as if it has been forever to me - the reality is that i am still a newbie. the problem is that whenever im out smoking with friends (who are all much more experienced) i sometimes feel like an ass because there is all of this terminology that goes along with smoking that im unaware of.

and since there is not exactly a dictionary for these matters (that i have access to, at least), i decided to make this thread for everyone on the board to share and learn about the phrases/terminology that they have picked up throughout the years.

just list the ones you know..

my list (short but sweet):

bogart: someone who hogs the weed
thunder lungs: its pretty obvious - someone who sucks down most of the weed in one hit (also associated with bogart)
clam bake: generally done in a car.. but basically its smoking in any small closed in area so that the smoke is trapped with you (yum)
420: there is a lot of history to this that ive heard.. and ive even seen a thread here about the history.. but it has come to be a symbol for weed or the act of smoking weed.
blunt: weed wrapped in cigar paper
bong: smoking device where the smoke fills up an area and then is sucked out all at once
cotton mouth: when your mouth gets dry after smoking, usually comes along with munchies
munchies: weed makes you hungry, it "gives you the munchies"


blah blah im sure there are a lot that i know that im missing but other people can add.

it would be cool if we made a cannabis dictionary for the boards ;p haha

Me and my friend have some that we made up ourselves... it goes along the lines of this.

If we want to smoke a joint/blunt we say to each other (so noone knows what we are talking about)- "Hey, do you want to go talk to Titus?"
The reason being joints/blunts need to be tight as fuck, or titus fuck, so we say Titus for short.

If we want to smoke out of a pipe/bong we say to each other- "Hey, is there anyone in the bathroom?"
The reason for that is what is in a bathroom? A toilet-BOWL? Umm yeah, kinda like secret code for pot smokers if they don't want other people to know what they are doing.

Also, people say they want "greens" a lot and stuff, which deals with the first hit. But we just say, I want to be greenskeeper, or I've got greenskeeper... just another way to say it, plus we made it up and it feels good to use lingo you made yourself.

We call people who smoke everyone else's weed SNoop. If anyone remembers Half Baked Snoop Dog was the "scavenger" smoker. They always just seem to show up when someone has packed a bowl or rolled joint of their own stuff. But never has stuff of his own. I know a kid just like that. Annoyning as hell.

one type of smoker I hate is those who are controlling about what is going to be done after smoking. I provide pretty much most the weed in my circle but I never decide what is to be done. This goes against all etiquette.

Yea i dont know if this was said already but when me and my friends roll joints, we call em spliffs. We call Gravity bongs G-bongs and G-bangers, and blunts sometimes get called L's. By the way that encyclopedia was sick.

Me and my girlfriend have taken to calling Gravity bongs Geebees. And Clambaking we call Hot-boxing.
