No, its a plant. A drug is something that has been made/processed by man. Magic moshrooms are not drugs, cannabis is not a drug.

However, cocaine IS a plant, well, its FROM a plant, and it doesnt come about naturally.

This is what i mean.

Cannabis aint a drug, simple as :thumbsup:

Weed is a "drug" but only in terms we think in. I consider it only a plant in my head. Thats why I find it so hard that the government wont let us grow/smoke something that grows from the ground naturally.

Well, technically, no, marijuana is a plant and not a drug. But when you are smoking it and getting high you are actually doing a drug, which is I think the sense in which the question was asked, so I chose yes.

it is a drug, but so is everything else. a drug is any thing that changes how your mind or body works. but so is food, water, and air. if you didnt have any of these things, the you would die, thus changing the way your body works. i used this to shut up the DARE cop in 5th grade and it worked very well.

I understand that cannabis isn't a drug, but when i smoke cannabis i consider myself to be smoking drugs, not just smoking plants. And high on drugs, not high on plants. So i put yes, it's a drug.

Well in a way it is and then it isnt. Anything that is used for medicinal benefits and has to be ingested I consider as a drug, and THC is a chemical after all and so is CBD and they both alter our mind and outlook on things. So basically yeah I would call it a drug but I wouldnt consider it in the same class as cocaine or anything like that. Marijuana is in a circle all on it's on, well maybe shrooms is in there some where :p.

A "drug" is any biologically active molecule that can be isolated or manufactured and is commonly used in medicine or as self-medication by a population for treatment of physical or mental discomfort.

At least that's how I'd define it.

So yes... THC is a drug, and Cannabis is the plant it comes from. "Marijuana" is the government's derogatory label for this plant (formerly known commonly as "hemp").

And yes, THC is also a psychoactive drug.

But is it the safest and most enjoyable drug known to man? (YES!)

THC is the active psychological ingredient in Cannabis, ultimately making Cannabis a drug. Orangeman seems to actually know the meaning of "drug"

Anything that changes the state of your well being whether it be physical or mental (Cannabis being both) is considered a "drug" the meaning of the word is very wide..but welcome to the art of linguistics.

That's right! There are many thing in life that are not considered a "drug" is Alcohol a drug? OF COURSE. is Tobacco a drug? YES. Drugs can be both good and bad. This is often where the misunderstanding comes in, never did i think that so many people actually believe Cannabis is NOT a drug.

Accept the fact that THC is a drug, in marijauna, and im sure none of you are taking the THC out of it then smoking the plant on its own.

But who said that drug's are always negative. Most people just have the perception that any "drug" is bad, because of the negative impact some drugs (cocaine/meth/crack) have caused addiction and ruined lives. Thats whats different, Marijauna is fine in that way..

I am so sick of people saying weed isn't a drug, IT IS A FUCKING DRUG! Saying it isnt is just you re-assuring yourself you are not a drug user, YOU ARE A DRUG USER, but you are a sensible one.
