Hello,

A newbie here :) I grow in a cupboard ( 2.5'x1.5'x5' ), using soil and 200w CFL (envirolite).

I started my second grow about 6 weeks ago. About two weeks in I had a 'situation' and had to move the seedlings to another location for a few weeks, where they only got natural light - mostly cloudy - which caused 'em to stretch a bit. There was also yellowing and shedding of lower leaves, in fact the older leaves died as quickly as new ones grew. Conditions were far from ideal in terms of temps and watering etc. but I had no choice.

They're back at home now (1 week ago) and after repotting have started good veg growth but I am now worried that the early stresses means I end up with mostly males. Is this likely?

TIA.

.

Others may disagree. However; Cannabis is supposed to have one of the most complicated sexual lives in the plant kingdom and people are still divided on the subject. It is thought that a plant may change sex during the veg period before it begins to mature into the pre-flowering period, but there doesn't seem to be mutual consencus on the subject.

Personally, I think weed farmers are all about providing optimal, lab conditions for their babies, and that they actually can take more than our pampered little children are allowed to ever come close to.

Yes the environment plays an important role for the sex outcome of the plants..

enviroment is a big issue once your babies are settled moving them and changing light cycle will almost certainly stress them and in my experiance more chance of getting males hermaphridites.treat your plants good they will reward you eill.good luck.

I forgot about the preflowers (thanks for reminding me faithlesxxx). So I've checked them using a 10x loupe and I can see pre-flowers with pistles (white hairs) on four of them - this was the best I was hoping for out of 7 plants.

Can I assume they will stay female as long as I don't stress 'em out anymore, or can they still go hermie? Do hermies have both sex pre-flowers?

Thanks for your help.
