I started karate as a kid back in '95 and was in it for 9 years, but so many activities lately haven't allowed me to go back even though I want to.

well i think karate is a waste of time. i have been practicing juijitsu for 11 years and have never lost to anyone who practiced karate. any fighting style is cool though..

Ju-jitsu and Japanese Karate are VERY similar so I don't know about it being that much better.

I like to train in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and submission fighting.. Pride/UFC stuff, ya know.
Karate is pretty shitty imo.

I did World Oyama Karate for a few years and fought a few knockdown tourney's (winning the last) and then moved onto reality/street defense (only school in our state that does this). We train to fight all ranges- from projectiles, to striking, to grappling including weapons. We have a submission fighting tournament coming up that I was supposed to be competing in but fell down a ladder at work last week and got injured.
I spend a lot of my time outside of work training and at the gym lifting weights and along with a few other toking buddies, am in an instructor's training program, all with hopes of running/owning our own school.

well its pretty clear that im not that well-versed in martial arts, but i still love them and the whole art of fighting, which is something ive taught myself gradually so that now i have my own style (not saying im some kickass uber-warrior or anything, but i can hold my own) and i love fighting as many people as i can (in sport) to learn about them and their personal styles. idk i just think you can read a lot about a person in the way they fight

I practice for MMA, but haven't in the last 4 months... my lower back kills me sometimes.
I also invented my own style, hilariously named "blunted fist".

Tae Kwon Do alumni...
Started when I was 5-ish...
got black belt in about 3~5 years.
(this was all in Korea)
then I came to US...
I wasn't very good until I hit puberty.
I got into the National Tae Kwon Do Team.
Did that for about 5 years.
Biggest tournaments for me was California Open and International Open at Peru.
now I'm in college... kinda retired. but kick a bag once in awhile.
