anyone into martial arts at all here? i loved karate when i did it (only reached purple belt before my teacher went pro and i've never found anyone else like him) and one of my favourite things to do when im blazed is to freestyle it and make as many combos as i can

yeah i used to do karate when i was younger, didnt stick at too long tho, now i'm more into sword fighting styles... i practise Koto-Chi (when i can be arsed... me = lazy git) and have only ever sparred once with my cousin.

i am planning on getting a bunch of books on monkey style kung fu and drunken boxing, so i can learn drunken monkey boxing kung fu, theres nobody any where near where i live that even knows kung fu, so i resort to books

I started karate as a kid back in '95 and was in it for 9 years, but so many activities lately haven't allowed me to go back even though I want to.

well i think karate is a waste of time. i have been practicing juijitsu for 11 years and have never lost to anyone who practiced karate. any fighting style is cool though..

Ju-jitsu and Japanese Karate are VERY similar so I don't know about it being that much better.

Yes, someone got the joke! I was people wouldnt bother to pronounce it out loud and just think that it was some obsucre for of karate.
