OK, I'm really baked out of my mind right now and my poor 8 year old sister just brought me her math homework and I'm tripping out not even knowing what the fuck they're asking. here is the question.

6. I have one more tens then ones. The value of my ones digit is 8. What number am I?

7. Write about it. Explain how you decided what number could be the answer.

shit, does anyone know the answer. this is probably really easy but i seriously don't know what the fuck they're saying. is it 89??

Close, first thing I would say would be 98.

Ones digit is 8. -8
Tens is one more than ones. 9 is one more than 8....

therefore, 98.

Had to double check myself...cuz I'm stoned too. :stoned:

Please don't let her expose her to the smoke. Thanks.

Hope this helps.

That's the answer and the explanation I got, too. 98. The ones digit is the one on the right, and the tens digit, which would be 9 because it has one more than 8, is the one one on the left. (If there were a hundreds digit, it'd add another level onto the left side.)

I'm not stoned, if that helps affirm the answer. Can you sort of walk your little sister through that answer to help her understand why you arrived at 98 instead of just writing it down for her? We do want her to get some learning out of the question!

So, just cuz I'm stoned, you don't trust me?!?! GASP!!

No just kidding. But I was stoned/high all the way through high school all the way up to Calculus. Straight A's, baby!

I do not condone the smoking of minors under the age of 18

You gotta respect straight A's in all the way up through calculus, even stoned! I somehow managed to pull A's even in college, but what I had an even stronger "straight" of was panic and uncertainty. I was always frightened of any math and sure I wasn't going to pull an A out. I'm still that way today in med school biochemistry class.

Ha,,, I thought this was a trick question,a stoner joke...

Even with an explanation I don't get it... No wonder this country is going to immigrant workers, they still count money the right way,,,10 + 10 = $20...

It's a simple question but it's worded in a wrong hard way.

when I was 8 years old the hardest thing I had to do was write a capital Z in cursive writing..and I think that might've even been at 9
