View Full Version : Back
Ok, so a few months ago it turns out i broke two vertibres in my back. I didnt find out i'd BROKE them untill recently, as my doctor only got the x ray results back... took long enough damn it.
Anyway, in the last few days my back's been getting worse, as in i woke up, and couldnt get out of bed, couldnt bend, and could only just about sit down.
The next day i couldnt even sit down because of the pain, its crazy.
Then it went, or at least wasnt so bad for about a day, but today when i woke up i got a twinge, sat down to come on cann.com and i couldnt sit down again.
It's so bad i cant dress myself, cos i cant bend down to pull on my trousers or my socks, i mean, 2 days ago i was sitting in my mates house and i got stuck...
Normally this would be funny, but i cant laugh with this pain, all im doing is shouting and moaning.
Now i've somehow convinced myself it could be some sort of cancer, and im shitting it [If only it didnt hurt to have a shit] BUT IT DOES...
Please someone help. This is so painful i'd rather cut of my toes with a rusty sharpended spoon..
I was meant to be going with some family to lay a stone on my grandfathers grave yesterday [sunday] but it was so bad i couldnt go because it would have hurt too much. That is why i've had enough of it. The pain is just annoying, but im not going to let it fuck the rest of my life around.
Thankyou in advance.

Untill you get into surgery, you should probably get a good anti-inflamatory like Celebrix or Arthrotec (though arthrotec can make you nautious). Some good painkillers would be Tylenol-3 with Codein, and even better would be Tramacet (or anything containing tramadol). Until you get some good prescription meds (I don't know why you don't already), pop about 600-800 mg ibeprophen (800 is kind of pushing it, even 600 is, but I do this all the time when I'm in too much pain and need it. You won't die of liver failure doing it a few times, I promise ;) ) .
Also, make sure you frequently ice the injury points for 10 minutes, then follow up with a hot bath to relax the muscles. If muscle tension is a problem too, get yourself some Flexeril (a really powerful muscle relaxant, but it can make you feel sedated and kind of drunk).
And if all else fails, your doctor may be willing to temporarily give you some meds with morphine in them, such as Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Vicodin, and of course Vicodin's little brother Tramacet.
Best of luck to you LIP
Thanks guys. I hate the doctor, because all they prescribe is stupid synthetic drugs that dont do what their meant too, yet have 9 billjiliian side effects. I just dont the like doctor in general.
I just finished a joint, and the pain is still there, but it doesnt bother me if you know what i mean, so hopefully this will sort it out for the time being before i go to the docs [Which i probably will]
And i gotta go anyway cos i've got the shakes, had em for a while now.
Im falling apart.

Im falling apart.
Then set aside your hatred for doctors and just get some opiate painkillers. I know there's a stereotype that opiates are this malevolent, instantly addicting force that destroys everything in their path; But the truth is, used responsibly and in moderation they can be perfectly safe and provide great pain relief. And tramadol's addiction rate is nearly 0 (being on a partial morphine receptor agonist).
Come on LIP, you don't want to suffer so much that you're falling apart, and I don't want you to either, believe me I've been there. The only side effects are some euphoria, foggy-brainededness (I reserve my right to make up words), possibly some itching on a particular spot (the nose for me), minor constipation if used too much (won't happen from a couple uses) and some damn good relief.

Hey, LIP. So sorry your back is killing you. I'd have written earlier but was off at school, learning to be a doctor. After reading your messages, I definitely promise I'll work hard to be a likeable one that people want to come to.
I think Mr. Devious made some good recommendations about trying to set aside your dislike long enough to get some help. Back stuff is serious and disablingly painful, and if you're in so much pain that you can't function, you ought to at least ask what your doc can do to help. If you've found the synthetic painkillers don't work for you, ask him/her directly for the ones you know work well. It's true that when used properly to treat physical pain, most anyone, including people with addiction problems (docs prefer to steer around prescribing the stuff for actively addicted people, but recovered ones usually do fine), can get some relief from heavy-duty pain meds. Think of it this way: if you have these broken vertebrae and you do something to further injure your spine or a disk, you could find yourself in worse shape. Bad things can happen back there. Numbness, paralysis, incontinence, or erectile dysfunction are just a few of the potential further complications that, as a man, I'm betting you'd like to avoid.
Hope you get some relief soon and that you also have some Indica-heavy weed on hand to help as well. It kills me to hear of or see people in pain, and I can tell how bad you must be feeling from what you wrote. Take care, my friend.
Thankyou birdgirl. Today i woke up, and kind of rolled over to see if it hurt, and it didnt, so thinking it was ok and jumped out of bed and it just went again. Tried to go to work this morning and couldnt because every position on the seat was agony driving.
So now its affecting my job i guess i'll have to get it sorted out.
The only time i really get relief is when im sitting with a pilow behind my back... And that gets damn annoying, and even that doesnt work ALL the time.
I just wish i knew how i did it this time, but i cant think of anything. All the heavy lifting where i work is done by machines or fork-lift trucks cos no one can lift and engine or a whole boat out of the water.
So ima go to the doctor and see what he says, hopefully i wont need anything done. Ive been thinking and it could be a trapped nerv? Although i dont know why it hasnt affected me untill now.
Thankyou guys for your concern, i'll probably get my shakes sorted out too, i hope its not a thyroid problem cos im definatly not get my neck cut by no one lol... Tabs and sort it out anyway, just gotta take em for rest of ya life.. lol.
I'll be poppin pills for ever..
LIP
I just got a pure indica from my man, smells and tastes like cucumber, but the body stone is so strong its the perfect pain killer... for now. But i know i still gota go to the docs, get this thins sorted. Like you said birdgirl, i dont want to be disabled for life because i was too much of an idiot for not going to the docs.

Hey Bro, know how u feel been off work since thursday with the same problem went to physio on monday helped alittel but still feeling the pain. Alot of heavy liftin in my job was hopin to go back 2mor just c how i feel in the morn. Hope ya back gets better soon cause i know its a pain in the ASS.
Cheers bro. The only thing heavy i lifted was about a month after the first problem [When i broke the vertibrea] so i dont know why the hell its only started playing up now, i just wish i knew, but when it happens for no reason at all it worries me lol.
The thing in question was a gearbox, but there was 2 of us lifting it.
Sheared itself right off the back of one of the engines
Making an appointment 2moro.
my mom had one of the vertebrae discs in her back like slip out of place and one break a few years ago. it was still giving her a lot of pain afterwards and she started doing yoga and said she felt much much better. i always that that was bullshit before that but she swears its true. worth a try i guess although i would find it embarassing on some level not sure why though

Oh no! That sounds horrible, I'd try smoking loads of well rolled joints.
Get better soon, because you leave the best posts on here and I would miss reading them.
Thanks people. I went to the docs, and he says he doesnt think its anything serious. I got some pain meds, cant pronouce them though lol, they are doing something, but not really getting rid of the pain... Just dulling it, although i must admit the weed is helping. He said to go back if it doesnt get better within a week, and hopefully it will be.
Now, you wont belive this, and this proves i really am falling apart, everytime i swallow i get a sharp pain in my throat, but its ok, i've just scratched the inside with something... probably the shit i eat lol.
One thing i DID forget to mention to the doc was my shakes, but im used to them now, had em for a while now. Just worried it might be a thyroid problem as my mother has an over-active thyroid.
Thankyou for all of your help, 420derf, Mr Devious, Birdgirl, englishtongan, Suhl, mamma puff and Captain Hanks.
I appriciateall of your comments... and thankyou for making me go to the docs... it wasnt really all that bad. Im just against the meds because the government have control and blah blah blah, all in all i HATE the government, and the law enforment.
Nochowder, your a fucking massive dong, and one day you'll get whats comming, i'll make sure of it.

Hey LIP, sorry about the back pain.
With a damaged vertebrae in your medical history you'd do well to start on glucosamine/chondrotin and stick with them to prevent future problems.
I hope you find a good source for your all-natural [green] medicine!

Damn straight lol.
Well, all the doctor really said was take these, and see how i goes, and warned me off bending too much, told me to use my legs [which i already do lol] but he said hopefully it'll sort itsself out within a week or 2, and the pain killers and definatly working better now, along with the weed, im almost back to normal, i just hope it stays that way when i stop the meds. I only got 10 days supply of em

Hey! I almost couldn't find my way back to this thread. Too many others going on.
I'm doing good and I really am managing OK with the studying. It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Really. And I'm finding enough time to still play and do stuff for me.
Sis is OK. Actually, she was great for a full four and a half weeks. then this week there was lots of deterioration. She's lost most of her vision now and so is needing more help getting around, but she's moving less and less, so at least she's not at as big a risk of falling as she would be if she were trying to get totally around the house or the stairs. Behave yourself and take care, OK!
