View Full Version : Sized pot to how much water per watering?

Another thing I've never quite seen a clear answer to is how much water should you water a pot with based on its size? Like how much water per gallon of pot size each watering? I know you only water when the soil is dry about 2 inches down, and to water til you see a little water come out at least, but how much would you say is ideal for a 1 gallon pot and a 5 gallon pot? Thanks in advance :rasta:

i believe a good number to shoot for would b about 1L per 1gal.....so if u had a 3gal, would b 3L of water 5gal-5L, so on...hope this helps...:stoned:

hey, i just water my plants every 3 days and give them 3/4 inches of water above the soil level, this seems to work well and ive had good results so far, good luck mate

Thanks for the input, but I'm looking for an absolute here, like "I use 1 liter of water for every 1 gallon of soil". Just trying to get a comparison of what different people use.
