Hi all, I wanted to know since it's something I have been thinking about. I know you are supposed to clean the nutrient chamber and the grow tray every two weeks to keep build-up of salts etc. But I was thinking, would it be ok to clean out the tray every 4 weeks say instead of every two with the nutrient tank?

I am thinking this because our current setup is a pain in the ass to change, and it also seems to me that if you are stressing the plants by detaching the root mat from the grow tray, simply to make a "sterile" environment that it would hurt the plants more than help. Does anyone else feel this way?

You are taking a chance so ask yourself "Do you feel lucky".

You know why you should keep it clean you're just looking for verification that you can take the easy route and if something goes wrong you can blame someone for bad advice.

You already know the answer and exactly what you should do for a good quality grow.

It's up to you if you listen or not.
