For Gods sakes I have just spent about 30 hours searching and reserching and reading and exploring and I have come to the conclusion that:

A. I should have studied in school
B: I am braindead
C. I am so confused Idont know what to do:confused:

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I want to know is which is the best for the $$$$ bulb to buy??

I need 10 of them so this is a hefty purchase.

I need HPS 1000watt. NO MH NO other wattages. These are replacement bulbs.

I really do give credit to all of the sicentifict growers out there for the great threads I have read on this subject, Penquien, Stoney, ETC ETC ETC But I am a simply man and I need a simply answer. PLEASE!!!!!!!

I just use the standard HPS bulbs for now. I figure there's so much else I can do to improve the plants' yield, after I get more practice, when the bulb burns out next time maybe I'll upgrade! :D

get the Hortilux its a combo of MH and HPS in a single bulb used for the entire grow great results that ive seen

Heres an idea. If you need ten replacements, this would be a great experiment if you bought two types, and could document, or even offer a simple report about how plants do under one type versus another. Good growing

I am all about experiments so I like Slow's idea. That said, EYE Hortilux is considered the nicer bulb. I have had great success with Sylvania's Lumalux. But...like most everything else, you get what you pay for.

If you have a public website to adviretise things and your state is somewhat pot friendly, you can often find people clearing out projects. I have seen 20 1000 watt bulbs for $400. Half brand new, half a few cycles. You...cannot beat that. If I had had $400 then, I would have been flooring it up there.

The hortilux with the extra blue spect is the way to go hands down. You can use it threw the whole grow as well, but using a seprate MH will give you less streching. and closer nodes.

I have used the EYE Hortilux, they don't have a very good track record for durability or long life ... my standby bulb is a standard high pressure sodium lamp, about $16, no big deal ... my research indicates the Hortilux doesn't work any better than a standard sodium for growing, at least, comparisons don't reveal any obvious differences ... dollar-wise, my money goes to the cheaper lamps ... :smokin:

"Hortilux HPS grow lamps produce up to 10% higher lumens and up to 36% more blue-violet spectrum than standard HPS for maximum yield during
the budding and flowering growth stages." This factor may make a difference to some, I know that it does for me. But the durability factor is also an important thing to keep in mind when buying 10 bulbs at a time.

please note your quotation is from the seller's promotional advertising, and uses the frequently-abused terms "up to" 10%, and "up to" 36% ... in real-world growing, I haven't found anyone yet, that thinks the Hortilux is any better than a standard HPS lamp, and my Hortilux supplier warned me that they have had very poor life from the 'EYE' brand of lamp (Japanese manufacture) ... hope this helps ... :smokin:

These are just some snips from some discussions about the Hortilux around hear, so when you say that you haven't herd anyone say whatever about them, I wonder. "Well for one it's 5,000 more lumens then standard.
Second the blue shift in the color spectrum allows for one bulb from start to finish, vegetation and flower. With the shift in blue that make's the red
spectrum even more productive for flowering.

How's my girls at 5 1/2 weeks. Oh my god, I got 2 1/2 or 3 weeks left. They look like they swell some everyday now. The last crop of papaya didn't look
like this. Oh my god. I will get some trichome shots in a few when the light comes on. I'm going to buy stock in hortilux. I can't tell the newb's out there how much it means to have great light." "Default Hortilux Eye
Do not under estimate the power of good light. If you have a chance get them. My first few grows were under a 1000HPS from China. The plants streched but
had good trichomes but not much on fattenning up buds. I have had the hortilux for over 3 weeks and the new set of papaya are completely different than
3 sets before. I thought it was me. I will take pic's , there are bigger stems and not hardly any strech. A much hotter bulb but way better. The big Z
knows, and now do I. If you go cheap, you grow cheap."

Thank you puffy

Yeah i know i've always been seeing it everywhere about better light. I just found the perfect example within my pics and had to share. I could swear i
saw the flowers develop faster in one night. Big improvement from standard to hortilux. Believe Zandor people! The proof is in the pics.

"The HPS hortilux is a fantastic bulb....after much consultation and I didnt believe it either at first but the BEST bulb is now the 1000 watt HORTILUX BLUE
MH LIGHT ...Perfect from start to finish but the price tag is over 200 bucks."
I have other things to do and I just wanted to show that it is actually been talked about on this board and quite a few people use them including a few mods, and hopefully they are mods for a few good reasons, after all we end up looking to them for allot of answers and always seem to appreciate their input. Oh ya, I am using the Hortilux MH and HPS and have started a thread in the In Door Growing section titled, "Blood, Sweat and double C22 with a 1K" Judge for yourself if you like the results when all is said and done. It may be a good grow, may not, we will see.
