i know people ask 1000 repetitive questions about stealth grows but heres mine

i plan on using lst on 1 plant in a 32gal trash can. i have 3 30 watt soft white cfls (equivalent to 100w/ 2000 lumens/ 3000k each) and one 13w (equivalent to 60w/850 lumens/3500k) daylight extra bulb. ill be hanging the three soft whites off the ceiling into the trash can and the 13w on a desk lamp clamped to the side. i plan on cutting a hole in the side of the trash can and running a small fan full time. i also have two floor model air filters that i will have running. the grow will be in my closet, dont have exact dimensions, but id say 7Hx6Wx4D. ill leave the door cracked and so small amounts of fresh air will come in from my window next to the closet. also plan on using the mylar from a couple of saved doritos bags as my reflector

i have a small outdoor plant that has some female preflower characteristics that i plan to clone from.

my questions are, will these lights be ok for the full grow or do i need more daylight extra bulbs for flowering? and no, i cant get a hps, so no need to recommend. also, how long to veg the clone before going into flowering?

hopefully ill be setting up the grow room tomorrow, so maybe pictures then. thanks a lot

well, first off 32 gallons is way too much for 1 plant, except if you are planning to grow a redwood. the general rule is 1 gallon for each foot of the flowering plant, i.e 2 gallons for a 2 foot plant, this will save u alot of space. as for the soft white cfls, soft white is not a good spectrum for growing, use a 5000k or higher "daylight" bulb for the beginning, and add a lower 3000k and lower "warm" white bulb for the flowering stage.you can find these bulb usually at home depot or lowes and they use standard household sockets.as for the amount of light, the rule would be at least 2500 lumens per square foot of growing space, but remember you cant over do it the more light the better. i do like the idea of using empty doritos bags as reflective material lol.

alright thanks. does the size of the trash can really matter? the plant itself will be in a 3 gallon container and ill drop the lights within 2 feet of the plants. so i guess i wasted my money on the soft whites. i only opened one, so ill return the other 2.

is a 2 week veg from a clone alright? its been vegging in the sun for probably a month or so, but its around a 14 hour light period, so its almost 12/12

oh, i was unaware that u were growing in a container inside the trash can, that makes more sense just make sure u have good ventilation and good light output and u'll have a blast

yeah, ill return my bulbs tomorrow and get some 5000k and some 3000k ones. ill use the hole i cut for the fan so that i can water the soil/ roots and rotate the base once a day

UFC 62 at hooters, stoked.

well, my dad somehow found the closet grow and he was only pissed because he thought the lights would burn the house down. so i rearranged my room and now ive got it in the open, next to my bed. i use my comforter to cover it and there are little holes in the top for air release and so that i can check my plants easily. also, my clones in the window, roots are started to come out. the cardboard in there to keep the comforter off the fan.

With the minimal heat CFLs produce, I would think it would be hard to burn the house down...My stepdad tried to say that it would burn the house down..but these lights apparently don't burn houses down because they're in thousands of houses across america...And in many closets across america.

yeah, i tried explaining that, but whatever, i like this setup better. im tryin to save up for a 150w hps from farmtek, but money is fire to me, so itll take a while.
