help my plant!

I have two plants outdoors that have been doing alright all season until this month when the rain slowed down. we've barely had any rain for the last couple of weeks and its been really hot and dry and a bunch of the lower leaves on my plants are turning yellow, then shriveling up, then falling off. i only have access to them about once a week on the weekends, and thats wehn i water them. they have some buds, but theyre not fully grown. should i go ahead and harvest them or is it to early? if someone can show me a pic of a plant at the earliest possible stage of harvesting then i can compare and see if its worth it.

Can you give more info on your plant perhaps?

Have you been feeding it? If so, what N-P-K ratio and how much?

If you haven't been feeding it and if leaves are dying really fast, you probably need to feed it.

Also, the first main fan leaves that the plant ever got, is completly normal to die off. When flowering is coming to close, the fan leaves just naturally die off.

If it's the leaves surrounding the buds, then something has to be done. Give us more info. :thumbsup:

harvesting ur plants now wont be any good seeing as how if it just start flowering the triches are probally so immature u wont get a buzz at all...

add alot of perlite to the soil and that will have it withhold water for a few extra days...maybe increase the ammount of water u give it...

no i havent been feeding it, i planted it in potting soil which feeds up to 9 months , its been in there about 4. but ive never had any problems other than now. no its not just the fan leaves those have always been yellow, now all the leaves are getting really droopy and all that stuff i explained before.

bottom leaves were probally yellow due to the nuts in the soil...it was to young...like i said before...add perlite to the soil

So this soil, is it like the kind with the fert. already in the soil? If so, that's probably your problem. The problem with that soil, is it releases nutes everytime you feed, so even when you don't want to feed, it does it anyways. You may have the wrong N-P-K ratio in the soil (the 3 numbers). For flowering plants, they should be feeding off of something high in P (NPK). Something like 10-15-10, or 15-30-15, numbers like that. If you have a soil in there that has the N number high for example, then your plant is suffering from a defiancy. Numbers like 5-1-1 for example are only good for vegging.

If the potting soil you have doesn't have time released nutes already in the soil, then it probably needs some ferts.

Like dyrst said, next time, use just plain potting soil, with no added nutes. Nothing fancy, just a healthy, clean soil. Then get some perlite or vermiculite, add 1/4 perlite/verm. and 3/4 soil, mix together well, and there you go.

Soil with nutes already added is not a good idea because if you want to switch to flowering before the time the soil is good for, then you have to transplant into new soil. Which can send a plant in hermi land or male city, and takes more time, and money.

id add a little more than 1/4, i usually do 30% but if ur not gonna be able to water frequently id do as much as 35 or even 40%

I don't measure out exactly either, it was just to give them an idea.

I usually do about 30-40% as well. Usually done by eye. Fuck measuring that shit out. :p

You want to up your phorphorus and lower your nitrogen for flowering.
Some bone meal will help add phosphorus, and get a high phosphorus
plant food your (P) level is your second numer on the guaranteed
analysis 15-30-15 is a good one to get for flowering the 30 represents
your (P) level.
Get some mulch to keep it from drying out spread it around the base
of the plant if its been hot without rain lately where you are. Its better
to have a plant that isnt getting enough water than one that gets to much
water.

Nah not really. My plant's just going in to flowering and it loves water. Every day I feed it. It's atleast 2 feet at 7 weaks old. Very healthy looking to. I might be wrong but I was reading up on hightimes today and it said you can never give a plant to much water during flowering cause It loves the water.
