Was I being set up for a bust?????

Hey guys. I dont know if I was being set up or not, but I got a call from an old dealer of mine last week asking me if I wanted anything. I said I would give him a call which I never did. I havent spoken to him in awhile because whenever I would call him for something, he would say he would call me back and about 70% of the time he would never call back and have me hanging for days. Thats not right man so I just didn't bother with him anymore. I'm not waiting days for weed. Just not gonna happen.

So then he calls me out of the blue last weekend and asks me if I need something. I found that pretty suspicious. You call the dealer...the dealer doesn't call you. I think he deals coke and other shit too, so I dont like messing with them type of dealers anyway. I know his house got robbed a few months ago too, so he may have been under investigation and wanted to set me up for a lighter prison sentence. It was very fishy, so I never called him back.

But he never said "do you want to purchase some marijuana off me". Just "do you need anything". I'm not a legal expert, but I was always under the impression that if they were to do this kind of bust, they would have to use strict names like marijuana, cocaine, or heroin in order to do the set up.

I never did anything to this person anyway. I used to work with him, so I don't know why he would try and set me up. And I have not heard anything on the news about him being busted or anything.

Do you guys think it could have been a set up? Any similar experiences?

usually pigs work like this....they catch the user....scare him into telling him their dealer...and then that dealers dealer....untill the entire cartel is gone...
they dont work the oppisite way it doesnt work that way...besides if he was selling coke a small bud bust aint gonna do shit for him...i knoww hen i would sell and i just reuuped if i needed some cash i would make a few phone calls...or if i was almost out and i just wanted to get rid of what i had, id call a few people and hook em up for cheap...maybe ur being to paranoid?...i dunno i wouldnt fuck with him anywayz if u have a betetr connect...i wouldnt wanna wait days for shit either

I don't think he was trying to set you up, but I still wouldnt buy from him if he treated you like that in the past. You don't keep your customers by treating them like shit.

all they have to do to bust you is set up the deal (reguardless of word play) wait for the drugs/money to transfer hands and boom, there you go off to jail.

Be truthfull to your dealer, hes the store your the merchant ..... Tell him you stopped calling because 70% of the time you wouldnt get a phone call back and then say you found a reliable person but if he can help you out otherwise, then great.

yea theres nothing wrong with that like ery bodys been saying he prob had a bunch of weed he had to move or got some new stuff or just needed to make some quick cash for something. He knows he used to sell weed to you and needed to get rid of some so he called you and asked "Do you need anything" and said it in that way because some poeple dont like saying weed/herb/pot on the phone. My old dealer used to call me eerytime he got another batch if he didnt hear from me.

Dont worry about it give him a call and grab a nice fat sack!

They dont have to use strict names to bust you. Street names work and if you respond to his "do you need anything" question with, yeah....can you get me a QP, well if his call IS a setup, i would EXPECT the local popos to coma a knockin. Warrant and all.

Dude if I was busted for just a $20 bag, the cops here would laugh it at and probably throw it back at me. Too much paperwork for a small amount of weed. If you get busted where I live with a small amount, they simply take it away and say have a nice night and probably smoke it themselves. They have more important things to worry about.

My dealers phone me sometimes. The tell me when they have had a special delivery of the best stuff they can get. They sometimes purchase too much and phone the people who buy qty of them to try and shift it. I wouldn't worry, especially if you didn't go meet em

Like it's been said, he probably wanted some money. It happens on a rare occasion to me. Think about it though, why would a dealer phone up a customer to by some pot? That makes no sense. Doing that, they're just going after the smaller guy than your dealer, which is well, pointless.

Dude, I called the guy yesterday and told me he would call back me at 4. Never called. Then I called him later and said he would call me back in like 5-10 mins. Never called. I am really sick of this, but what really pisses me off is when he calls me out of the blue asken me if I want anything, and than he never calls me when I do.

I'm also going through a big run around with another dealer who I know. This is just fucken ridiculous.

Sometimes I don't even know why I still smoke weed with all the hassle I have to go through in order to get it.
