ha ha ha... what a douche bag... it took these people 1000 years to figure out we weren't at the center of the universe... atleast global warming may not take that long...
NEW YORK - Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.
??We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels,? Robertson said on his ??700 Club? broadcast. ??It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air.?
This week the heat index, the perceived temperature based on both air temperatures and humidity, reached 115 Fahrenheit in some regions of the East Coast. The 76-year-old Robertson told viewers that was ??the most convincing evidence I??ve seen on global warming in a long time.?
Last year, Robertson said natural disasters affecting the globe, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita that wrecked the U.S. Gulf Coast, might be signs that the biblical apocalypse was nearing. remember N.O. was destroyed because of the Sinners?? Fuck... so when it happens to someone else it's God's Will.. but when it's tool hot for Pat it's global warming... God couldn't hate him...
So does God control the Earth or not?? Uh Oh anonther stupid flaw in the cult of christianity that can't be answered... maybe we should ask the dinosaurs... oh wait, they don't exsist either...

Gumby!! Where in the world have you been? You haven't been online in ages. Glad to see you're still alive and well
Poor ole stupid, doddering reverend Robertson. Only convinced by heat he himself can feel and not a long history of indisputable evidence from scientific experts based on what they actually see and sample on our planet.
What a simpleton that man is. I find myself hoping that he will soon feel the effects of a disabling heat stroke as penance for having been so stupid on this issue for so long. But of course, thinking like that is just wrong . . . .

Guys the planet would change if we werent here.
Who do we think we are, that we can change the earth. Valcanos put more pollution into the air in 0ne episode than humans do in a hunded years.
We need to be careful about pollution starting with big bussiness.

Pssht, fossil fuels, what is he thinking? Pat Robertson of all people should know that global warming is God's punishment for our tolerance of pagans, abortionists, feminists and homosexuals, just like 9/11 was.

I like to think the earth cools and heats up when it moves in its natural orbit... it is called an elipse....
evry so ofeten the earth streches its eliptical path along its major axis, witch puts us farther away from the sun. Do that with a little more or less tip on its axis, and we have a Ice Age or global warming.
very easy........... do we really think we can change the climate. come on please.

apparently we're coming out of a cold period of time, i saw some chart somewhere that showed it and whatnot. The ozone layer is actually started to repair itself too.

I could consider Pat Robinson, the "Zionist spokesman" for Bush and the Illuminati. He knows fundemental Christianity is full of shit and he probably laughs his ass off at the people who actually believe in it. Remember too that denouncing Islam as the Devil's religion is the objective of the NWO too.

It's mushroom season... I been 'lost' for a little bit... but glad to see you're still here, you seem to bring some sense of civility back to this forum, even if i blow it out of the water...
glad to see your still arounf, hopefully i'll be here for a little bit, but I'm in the middle of a move as well so we'll see...
take care...

Bong it's been a while, I was gonna try to be nice to you but this is my bread and butter... I won't talk with you about 9/11 but this won't pass me...
If only what you liked to believe was the truth your would would be so much eaiser wouldn't it?? 99.9% of educated scientist believe that the earth has major climate changes... and it has to do with our orbit and tilt... you're right about that... but what your lack of education doesn't bring in is the fact that it doesn't matter... it takes 1,000s of years for that change to occur...
we are speeding it up.. it's a natural occurance... it's the planets way of keeping equallibrium.. but when we cause it to move 10x the natural rate something isn't right.
I know that the earth will be ok... .Humans can't change it enough to destory it, something i'm fully comfortable with... But what Humans are doing and will do is destroy the earth enough do that we will no longer live on it...
I'm sure your history is a it lacking, Do you believe that the universe is 5,000 years old too?? Cause that's what the bible says... and if you do I can see how your ignorance comes into play. But you see I study the truth and history and I believe in Dinosaurs... you see they lived on the earth for millions of years just finely.. untill the earth changed... not enough to destroy it or all of life on it... but it changed and killed the most dominate species ever to exsist on this planet...
was it cause of global warming no... but it was cause the earth was changed by a little bit. I'm not worried about us 'hurting' the earth... She is God and will be ok... but when ignorant people think that they changes they are causing will have no effect it boggles my mind...
Bong you wanna have a civil good talk... lets talk about the Mayans... read about why they died and became extinct... read some history and lets talk about this in a serious educated manner.... unlike the stupid 9/11 shit...

I'm not entirely sold on either side of the global warming debate. While I think it certainly is possible for such a sudden widespread phenomenon like human civilization to change the ecology of the planet, I don't buy all this "aaaaaah it's the end of the world!!!" rhetoric coming from hard-core environmentalists. Until the scientific community reaches a thorough consensus on what's going on, I'm reserving my judgment.

I think it could just be a hot age, too. I mean, how do we know that our livable temperatures are only at the fair middle of Earth's cycle?
Plus, with all the evidence of a great flood in almost every ancient civilization...how would the melting of all ice in the world count for a great flood???

Uh... you know that dinosaurs are mentioned and described in the bible right?
Just thought you should know.

Care to point out any specific passages?
You know, the world's twelve-thousand years old, and dinosaurs existed in that time, you'd think it would've been mentioned in the fucking bible at some point. "And o, Jesus and the disciples walked to Nazareth, but the trail was blocked by a giant brontosaurus with a splinter in his paw. And o, the disciples did run a-shrieking 'What a big fucking lizard, Lord.' But Jesus was unafraid, and he took the splinter from the brontosaurus' paw, and the big lizard became his friend. And Jesus sent him to Scotland where he lived in a Loch for oh so many years, inviting thousands of American tourists to bring their fat fucking families and their fat dollar bills. And O Scotland did praise the Lord. Thank you, Lord."

Behemoth has the following attributes according to Job 40:15-24
It ??eats grass like an ox.?
It ??moves his tail like a cedar.? (In Hebrew, this literally reads, ??he lets hang his tail like a cedar.?)
Its ??bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.?
??He is the first of the ways of God.?
??He lies under the lotus trees,
In a covert of reeds and marsh.?
Leviathan has the following attributes according to Job chapter 41, Psalm 104:25,26 and Isaiah 27:1. This is only a partial listing??just enough to make the point.
??No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up.?
??Who can open the doors of his face, with his terrible teeth all around??
??His rows of scales are his pride, shut up tightly as with a seal; one is so near another that no air can come between them; they are joined one to another, they stick together and cannot be parted.?

That bill hicks quote made me laugh pretty hard though. Even though no one thinks dinosaurs where alive at the same time as jesus.

I am not thoroughly convinced of the global warming theory, but I'm mostly convinced. In any case, if the theory holds true, the effects are so disasterous that in this case perhaps it's better to err on the side of caution than to just hope the theory proves to be false and kiss our asses goodbye if we're wrong.

Ummm... last time I looked valcanos only blew out naturally occurring chemicals. Also volcano erruptions tend to cool the earth, not heat it.

Behemoth has the following attributes according to Job 40:15-24
It “eats grass like an ox.”
It “moves his tail like a cedar.” (In Hebrew, this literally reads, “he lets hang his tail like a cedar.”)
Its “bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.”
“He is the first of the ways of God.”
“He lies under the lotus trees,
In a covert of reeds and marsh.”
Leviathan has the following attributes according to Job chapter 41, Psalm 104:25,26 and Isaiah 27:1. This is only a partial listing—just enough to make the point.
“No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up.”
“Who can open the doors of his face, with his terrible teeth all around?”
“His rows of scales are his pride, shut up tightly as with a seal; one is so near another that no air can come between them; they are joined one to another, they stick together and cannot be parted.”
And how are you so sure they are referring to dinosaurs and not just any vicious creature? When I read this description I thought it sounded a lot like a crocodile, and then I read up on it and found out most Biblical scholars actually think this refers to the Nile crocodile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nile_crocodile), and not to any dinosaur.
We're talking about creatures which went extinct long before the first humans (yes it's true, dinosaurs and cavemen DID NOT exist together like in the Flintstones—find me one example of dinosaur fossils and human fossils in the same geological layer if I'm wrong). How is it that the writers of the Bible would come to know about animals that died off 65 million years ago?

Car emissions are naturally occuring chemicals. Volcanoes blow out copius amounts of carbon monoxide and dioxide and tons of shit that factories put out.

Courtesy of the EPA:
Cars release hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide.
"Carbon dioxide, while not regulated as an emission, is the transportation sector's primary contribution to climate change. Carbon dioxide emissions are directly proportional to fuel economy--each 1% increase (decrease) in fuel consumption results in a corresponding 1% increase (decrease) in carbon dioxide emissions."
Courtesy of the USGS:
"Large volcanic eruptions inject water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrochloric acid (HCl), hydrofluoric acid (HF) and ash (pulverized rock and pumice) into the stratosphere. CO2 is a greenhouse gas and contributes to global warming. HCl and HF can dissolve in water and fall to the earth as acid rain. Most of the SO2 is slowly converted to sulfuric acid (H2SO4), which condenses into a mist of fine particles. These sulfate aerosols reflect radiation from the Sun, cooling the troposphere; they also absorb the Earth's heat, warming the stratosphere. The aerosols also promote ozone destruction by altering chlorine and nitrogen chemical species in the stratosphere. As the aerosols settle down into the upper troposphere, they can serve as nuclei for cirrus clouds, further affecting the Earth's radiation balance. (figure modified from Richard Turco in American Geophysical Union Special Report: Volcanism and Climate Change, May 1992)"
Though I am confused as to the statement:
"Volcanoes blow out copius amounts of carbon monoxide and dioxide and tons of shit that factories put out."
Are you saying that volcanoes and factories create the same pollution? Just looking for clarification.
A list of what volcanos do not produce and which are produced by factories (actually just to narrow the list down I've only briefly listed the carcinogens):
Acetaldehyde, Acetamide, Acrylamide, Acrylonitrile, Aniline, Arsenic compounds, Benzene, Benzidine, Benzotrichloride, Benzyl chloride, Beryllium compounds, Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, Bis(chloromethyl)ether, Bromoform, 1,3-Butadiene, Cadmium compounds, Captan, Carbon tetrachloride, Chlordane, Chlorobenzilate, Chromium VI, Coke Oven Emissions, ,2-Dibromo-3-chloroprop, p-Dichlorobenzene, 3,3-Dichlorobenzidene, Dichloroethyl ether, 1,3-Dichloropropene, Dichlorvos, and the list goes on to include 56 more catagories of crap that factories put out everyday that we breath.
Interesting question. Do people believe that pollution is more of a threat than global warming?
One last fact courtesy of the World Health Organization:
"The World Health Organization estimates that 4.6 million people die each year from causes directly attributable to air pollution."
The two go well together.
