NEW YORK - Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.

â??We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels,â?� Robertson said on his â??700 Clubâ?� broadcast. â??It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air.â?�

This week the heat index, the perceived temperature based on both air temperatures and humidity, reached 115 Fahrenheit in some regions of the East Coast. The 76-year-old Robertson told viewers that was â??the most convincing evidence Iâ??ve seen on global warming in a long time.â?�
Last year, Robertson said natural disasters affecting the globe, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita that wrecked the U.S. Gulf Coast, might be signs that the biblical apocalypse was nearing. remember N.O. was destroyed because of the Sinners?? Fuck... so when it happens to someone else it's God's Will.. but when it's tool hot for Pat it's global warming... God couldn't hate him...

evry so ofeten the earth streches its eliptical path along its major axis, witch puts us farther away from the sun. Do that with a little more or less tip on its axis, and we have a Ice Age or global warming.

If only what you liked to believe was the truth your would would be so much eaiser wouldn't it?? 99.9% of educated scientist believe that the earth has major climate changes... and it has to do with our orbit and tilt... you're right about that... but what your lack of education doesn't bring in is the fact that it doesn't matter... it takes 1,000s of years for that change to occur...

we are speeding it up.. it's a natural occurance... it's the planets way of keeping equallibrium.. but when we cause it to move 10x the natural rate something isn't right.

I know that the earth will be ok... .Humans can't change it enough to destory it, something i'm fully comfortable with... But what Humans are doing and will do is destroy the earth enough do that we will no longer live on it...

I'm not entirely sold on either side of the global warming debate. While I think it certainly is possible for such a sudden widespread phenomenon like human civilization to change the ecology of the planet, I don't buy all this "aaaaaah it's the end of the world!!!" rhetoric coming from hard-core environmentalists. Until the scientific community reaches a thorough consensus on what's going on, I'm reserving my judgment.
