For seeds or breeding purposes. Why keep buying seeds when you can just pollinate a female plant with pollen and reproduce the same seeds or mix up the strains a little bit by breeding.

It is spelled "desperate". But I am not sure why it is a desperate move to sex your plants. If you have females and you take clones, guess what? The next crop is all females, and they have zero seeds.

Do you have a better method. I am sure we would all like to know what it is.

sexing them just means you are creating a condition in the plant by altering light cycles causing hormones to build up, then within a week or two, you will see either male or female preflowers (sex organs), then you know when the pick the males, unless you want to allow it to get seeded. All Plants sex sooner or later, whether forced or left alone.

The most common dioecious plant you might be familiar with is the holly tree. It is the female that has the pretty red berries. But you have to plant at least 1 male per 5 females to get them.

plants can be either:
Monecious (spp?) : Mono= "one home" for both sex parts.

Dioecious: Di= "2 [different] homes" for each sex part.

So with a dioecious plant, you can have a "purely female" plant, having only flowers. Our people smoke the "flower" so thats why we keep the female and ditch the male.
LIP is right, "sexing" just means forcing the plant into "flower mode" so you can determine the sex.
