how do i keep my buds from stretching?

it seems we had a strange spring, and my buds streched twice.
what happened.

more direct sunlight..wait...your buds??...you mean your plant i assume...

their in the wide open. no shade, but very rainy season.
plants i did mean, started to bud in april, then streched, and then looked like they were going to finish off, then they streched again. i held back on nitrgen.
