i have heard that boiling your pieces to get the resin out is the best approach rather than trying to scrape them and then collect the resin from the bottom of the pan..is that the best way to get the resin out in a smokable form?

I dunno if you get smokable resin but you do get ur piece sparkly shine brandnew if you use rubbing alcohol. Fill a container so ur piece is fully submerged and let it sit for like a day and then clean the rest after a water rinse with pipe cleaners and Qtips.

I boil my pieces to clean them, but I don't smoke the resin when I do.

boil it then fill a plastic bag with rubbing alcohol 99% and pour some salt in the there then down the stem and in the bowl of your piece. Put the bowl in the plastic bag with the rubbing alc and shake it for like 5 minutes. Your pipe will be brabd new

Yeah boiling it is safer too cause many of my pieces in the past have broke trying to scrap it for resin.

I like scraping it, then boiling it, but the resin when boilied lasts much longer.
