ok, so im a newbie to weed. i got interested in it and tried it for the first time about it a while ago. i got some from a freind, and he said it was realy good weed. he is a heavy weed smoker, and he said that 1 bowl of it got him stoned out of his mind. anyway, i got it. went home, and had a couple tokes. after my third or fouth good hit, it hit me. i started feeling realy weird, and my heard started beating realy fast. i could feel it beating in my chest, and that was scary. also my hands and feet started to shake. my legs were shaking pretty bad. the shaking went away after a little bit, but my racing heart lasted for hours. i got realy freaked out, and scared. i had panik attacks. i tried to eat something and i couldent. i wasent hungry at all. my mouth also got realy dry. i tried to go to bed, but i was to scared that i was going to die or something. i felt i wasent breathing in unuff air. and got paranoid. and when i tried to lay down i had to get up because everything felt realy weird. anyway after about 3 hours it went away and i was fine. i told myself i would never do it agean, because i had such a bad exsperiance. well i decided i would try it a couple more times. i did it 2 more times and the same thing happend. now i havent done any since. im just wondering if you think it was laced with something. the guy i got it from moved and i dont know his number, so i havent asked him if it was. anyway one of my other friends said he thot from what i said, that it sounded like the weed i had might have had a little bit of coke or something in it. what do you think? i might try some other stuff soon, to see if the same thing happens. i think it was coke, because after i took my first few hits my hear would start racing. does this normaly happen? thanks for any help or advice.

It wasnt laced. It was good weed. You just couldnt handle it. Weed cant kill you, so i dont see why everyone gets so scared and shit.

...
next time just take one toke and wait a couple minutes...
if you still don't like feeling, it's possible you just generally don't get along with marijuana. Some people dont; body chemistry, simple conscious preference, etc... Try meditating first...

If the stuff was good enough to get your friend wasted off one hit, you probably don't need 3 or 4 hits if you're a newbie.

Some people think their weed is laced, but it's a misconception. First of all, it's hard to lace bud with anything else because you can see it. Also, good coke is more expensive than weed, so nobody would waste their coke to lace the weed.

Really good bud can expand in your lungs, which causes some people shortness of breath. And the shaking could just be from a good body high - do you also feel numbness in your head and body?

Weed makes your heart rate increase. It's normal. Maybe ease off on the number of tokes next time like people suggested.

I liken your first few times being high as a baby's first few days in the world. Everything is foreign and new, you will experience a hightening in your senses like very few other activities can provide. With continued use you will find that relaxing and allowing yourself to be at peace are key. Also, as with any psychedelic substance, two of the most important factors to your experience are set and setting. Weed tends to take any emotion or mental state of being and amplify it. So naturally your first few attempts will be underlined with some anxiety and apprehension due to the newness of the experience. If you smoke around people that you don't trust, or that you have a bad history with, or if your parents would disapprove then most likely you will not enjoy it as opposed to being surrounded in a safe environment with people who you trust and love.

Yes, your heart rate does increase, but not even as much as moderate exercise can provide, the only difference is that with weed minute details are so much more exagerated, so it may actually feel like your heart is about to explode. That's where the key to weed, as with many other drugs, come into play. You must force yourself to remember that you are still in control of yourself. Do not let it control you and it won't. You're not going to do anything you don't want to do while high. In fact, many long-time partakers often wax poetically on the initial days of smoking, due to this reckless and new feeling. But for me I find that with continued use, I have learned to master my "high self" and that's when I began to truly enjoy and appreciate what it can do. Reading on these message boards is always a good idea, as there are many veterans and like-minded individuals with decades of experience who are more than willing to help out someone new to our kindred plant. Here is what I would suggest: try listening to some music that you enjoy, or read through the threads and get some music that others enjoy while high. Write down some of your thoughts. Watch fantasia. Cook your favorite foods before you smoke and lo and behold when the munchies inevitably kick in, you'll have a feast waiting for you to dig in to.

For me, trying out new activitie when high is like doing them for the first time. That's one of the aspects that really draws me to the experience. You'll be offered the chance to experience life from a completely new point of view. But in the end, if you truly don't enjoy it then simply don't do it. Weed, like other facets of life, is in the end not for everyone. But I would say at the least give yourself a chance to get more accustomed to the experience before you eliminate it from your hobbies.

Are you currently on any medications?

Do you have ADHD?

What's so bad about being on an ADD medication and smoking marijuana?

^Thats everything you need to know to have a good high^

shiscobob everything you described about the first time you got high sounds exacly like the first time I got high. The heart racing, the shaking, the dry mouth, couldn't eat, all of that happened to me. so a week or two later one of my friends, who I trust, took me up to his room and we hit a bong together and i had a great time. So just surround yourself with a great atmosphere, relax, take your time, and you'll most likely enjoy yourself.

i would say just chill (stereotypical stoner words) but its true, i used to go for long walks like a mile with a joint the fresh air calms you down and brings on a creeping high that hits you when you least suspect it, just chill, take a couple of tokes walk summore an also listen to music, it just calms you down seriously, also dont do it in a dodgy room, do it sumwer were u feel safe, your room, bathroom or garden, i really like standing in the garden s having a joint and look into the sky.

I love your description of your first time, reminds me of my first time too, im realy baked now but hope the advise helps.

That's why you don't smoke good weed your first time, nor your first few times... common sense man, you just weren't ready. Start with some shitty weed and work your way up.

And to a previous poster, why ask if he has adhd? I have adhd and it means nothing.

i had a history of panic attacks before i even smoked . I freaked the fuck out the first time for awhile , maybe 30 mins then i was chill and been blazing tons sence. Just relax and tell yourself your going to be fine , cause you are.

Dont smoke too much too fast.
If you take big hits, taker longer in between taking in.
Really take your time and maybe keep yourself occupied at the same time to keep away the fear of having panick attacks again.

Like most people said, it was just some strong stuff and you hit it too fast. The same reaction happens to even veteran smokers at times. If I quit for a month and then start smoking again, I get the shakes and my heart starts going crazy. Once I center myself enough to realize that it's just the weed, everything calms down...about 10-15 minutes.

I would definately pack a bowl, smoke a hit, then give it a few minutes. Guage how it's making you feel. If you think you can handle more, then repeat. Otherwise, flag yourself and call it quits. It's kind of like alcohol...you drink responsibly and being drunk can be a good thing. You take it to fast, and well, your face is in a toilet all night.

What your saying reminds me of guys who drink a lot they keep drinking til they feel the effects what they dont realize is that if they slow down they will feel the effects and wont be completely hammered its sort of the same lines with what i will call virgin smoking when you first start you may want to get high fast so you keep smoking and smoking too much and then it hits you and your not used to it so you bug out once you get used to it you love that feeling but too begin you should smoke a little at a time and then you know when you will reach your limit

so mabe get with a friend or 2. or by myself. then take 1 hit, wait a few min. then if i dont think i can take more. call it quitts. otherwise take another hit. im going to try this i think. what about using a vaporizer? just take 1 vape hit.
