I've been contemplating making a weed hot sauce using fresh Scotch Bonnet peppers...sautee that up with some oil, some herb, and some other seasonings...

If you saute scotch bonnets (habaneros) you will be in agony like someone pepper sprayed you in the face and then afterwards your roommates will kick your ass too!
Volatilizing that much capsacin is not too good an idea. The hottest thing I would ever saute would be a seeded and gutted jalapeno.
To use habaneros, grind them up or chop them wearing gloves, and put them in a mason jar with just a little vinegar and some salt. Let them sit for a while. You can then use them bit by bit in your hot sauces.
When I cooked at a Mexican restaurant, our hottest hot sauce only had 6 habaneros per half gallon of salsa, all whirled in a blender which was enough to get the hot oils into the air! No one wanted to make the hot sauce!
But maybe I am just a wuss.

Habanero peppers are the sh*t. My wife and I love spicy food, so we tend to chop fresh habaneros and put them into virtually everything we eat. No other fresh pepper we've tried gives the kick that habs do. Like stinkyattic said above, U HAVE TO use extreme caution and/or gloves/sandwich baggies on your hands when handling the peppers. The seeds and the darker coloured ribs inside of the pepper are the hottest parts, so U can choose to toss those [seeds grow plants though!] aside if U want a less painful bite...though why would anyone want the pain to be reduced?!??! :p

well first, you have to have an oil or alcohol base in there for the THC to extract into, because THc isnt water soluble. you should make some green dragon (THC extract) and add about 5 eye droppers full into your hot sauce. also if you look on the ingrediants for almost all hot sauces, the primary ingrediant is vinegar. so if you want that added zing i would go for some white wine vinegar in there and a small amount of habanero or some crushed red pepper and grind it up into a powder. good luck man,

You could try a chili paste-type mix, with cannabis, ripe red chilies, fresh garlic, some olive oil, a splash of lime juice, and some sugar. Grind it all up in a cuisinart so it has the consistency of pesto.

Apparently you all aren't much of Buffalo Wing Cooks.....
When making buffalo wings, ALWAYS, and I repeat ALWAYS put butter into the ht sauce while heating it up, thats what makes good hot sauce stick to the wings. Just use cannabutter instead. Done.

scratch that, use a butane extraction of thc to make honey oil, and then make an alcohol extraction of capsicum, and use well flavored peppers, and use the capsicum to kick up the heat, and a some honey oil for the buzz.

Bingo! It's da butta baby.
Also, if you're gonna use a habanero to make the sauce I highly recommend adding some sweet mango or papaya. All the best habanero sauces have this to balance out the flavor. NOT to make it less hot. There is just something about mango and habanero that tastes extremely good. Btw - Of all the habanero hot sauces I've tried Tabasco Habanero (NOT the regular tabasco) is the best!!

Yea, if you're like me, using Habanero Peppers is just that much better <<
But you gotta LOVE hot stuff if you use it.

not really, but all of those extractions require mininmal effort for very potent effects, and if you want to make a strong capsicum extraction, keep it in the dark, it's very light sensitive. I want to make some that pushes 10million scoville units >.<

Damn it Surfbud, you beat me to it. The original Anchor Bar wings are 1 to 1 Frank's Red Hot to butter. By using the butter to extract the THC he can avoid problems of cooking hot sauces with the marijuana and having the kitchen fill with pepper oils. I don't like to use a 1 to 1 of butter, I use more of a 3 parts Franks to 1 part butter then a splash of lemon juice. From there I then modify this "basic" sauce. If I want it spicy to nuclear I use Dave's Insanity Sauce. If I want garlic I add some fresh chopped garlic to the butter and sweat it a few minutes then add the sauce. If I want to balance the heat with a little sweetness I add the butter, the Frank's, cook a couple of minutes, remove from heat and add honey. Teriyaki is also a favorite add on. Cooking the Frank's on the stove will not be bad but if you add the Dave's Insanity Sauce don't cook too long or stick your head over it.
But I'm with Surfbud. Use butter to extract the THC for 20-30 minutes ,then add the base of your hot flavor (such as Frank's or other Red Pepper style hot sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce), then add additional flavors, then toss with fresh fried (or baked for the calorie counters) lightly flour coated wings in a big bowl and serve! Try Buffalo shrimp or strips of boneless chichken breasts.
YUM!

If you want spicy stuff, you should look up on Thai, Indian, and Bhutanese cooking.
