My advice would be to eat lots of salads, because salads contain lots of fiber to make you feel full, but they have very little carbs to add to the lard sacks.
After all who has seen a picture of a overweight prisoner in a concentration camp before?

Keep lots of fresh fruit in the house. Watermelon and grapes are great cuz they fill you up and quench your thirst at the same time. Try freezing the grapes too. yum

Different things work for everyone, but I tend to not get high after I eat. I always smoke my j before my meal, that way the munchies is really just my supper. I also sometimes will eat half my supper, then I have the other half when I am hungry again after my late night j or something. (Like if you are having pizza, and eat 2 pieces, if you cut them in half, you have 4, for 2 meals) Good luck.

The university of moscow, in collaboration with the university of oxford, did a 10-year research & development study of the causes of weight gain.
After 5 years of research they conluded that fat people eat too fucking much and don't move their lazy asses enough.
Its so fucking obvious dude if you're a fat fuck then don't eat so much and exercise more.

You have to understand how the liver works. Go to Dr.Cabot.com
She will explain what is needed in the liver to metabolize fats.
Also go to Dr.Natura.com. This has to do with colon cleaning, as when you eat the typical refined diet it causes impaction in the colon, which looks like fat from the outside, but isnt.
Easy 10-15lbs. right there can be gone in just a few months and prevent colon cancer later on. Pictures on the site are graphic though. This is something everyone should do and you will see why.
..............and of course what the others said.

Something that helped me was including more soups in my diet.
Pretty damn easy, actually. Get some baby carrots and celery at the market, cut into small bits, and boil in chicken bulion with some black pepper. You can even do it in the microwave. The bulion is good and bad... low cal, but high in salt.
Try getting a game that gets you up and about. DDR is my favorite, but anything that gets you moving works. If you are self-conscious about working out, try getting a membership to a 24 hour gym and go at like 2 or 3 in the morning, or getting yourself a treadmill.
The worst part of it all is that there is no quick fix, and that sucks. But if your consistant with the small things, you'll reap the rewards.
Best of luck to you!

make a habit out of doing some kind of exercise during the day. then increase it periodically. do stuff to ignore you hunger, i usually deal with hunger pains all morning until like noon or 1pm and then eat. then i don't eat late at night either. eat hi carb food, but you have to use the energy instead of sitting around and letting it turn into fat.
i used to be a little chubby then i got so addicted to the computer and games and stuff that i didn't eat very much, so i got skinny. then i started to work out a lot more to build muscle, it was pretty easy now that i look back but you have to make a mental decision and stick with it.

You have to understand how the liver works.
Understanding how the liver works is not essential to continuously stuffing your face with Burger King.

Funny, 100 years ago this type of thing was unheard of. 100 years ago not every second person was a big fat bitch, either...

Don't keep burgers in the house. Im not fat and I can always control what i eat when I'm sober.. but amn when I get the munchies the only thing in the world I care about is getting a burger I can get through 3 in a row on the munchies hahaha

It may be hard but don't eat enriched foods and consume corn syrup. Enriched foods are super common, really anything with flour...so thats no pizza, white bread, pretzels, crackers, etc...Cut down on the sugar intake, try to eat more fiberous foods..vegetables are good but I love making brown rice...good meal if you steam up some brown rice, with small bit of butter(avoid margerine, yucky trans fat) and lots of vegetables. if you drink a lot of soda try and replace that with tea and a little bit of honey.

Whenever you start to feel hunger pains set in, ease it by smoking more.

I did all that with my diet, and I feel the best I ever had in my life. I am skinny in the first place but this is a very nutritious diet and it leaves me feeling good.

Just start out with little things. Don't drink any soda (unless it's with dinner), and lay off of any processed foods. If it has an ingrediant you can pronounce, try to stat away from it. Most of the time weight is gained from too many processes foods. After you've cut that out fo your diet, then start on the other things, increase your daily fiber, decrease your totoal calories and fat, etc..

Benagains' advice is very good.
Also, Thyroid is a very common issue not understood well by med. industry.
Thyroid primarily is th principle hormon that controls or regulates metabolism.
Go to www.drlowe.com not much reading required. click on link for a local referal Dr.
Doctors stuck in the programing of the AMA, are blinded to the obviously hypothyroid symtomatic,
Quest, the leading bloodwork results lab ~ send back green lights on blood work from a vast # of society whos thyroid levels are inadequate.
The AMA has finally released a note indicating their need to re-evaqluate their current view on thyroid.
I have been a chronic pain sufferer.
This is what changed my life, weed helped - but the cause of it all was thyroid related.
Oh, and I losr 25 lbs. I am know 165 lbs and feel great. Know - for my frame
that is a lot of weight.
benagain
06-06-2006, 01:11 PM
I agree about the thyroid, I have heard of this causing issues. I'm sure there's a number of different medical reasons that could make it hard to cut weight. If you've got into a regular diet and excersise routine and nothing you're doing seems to be helping, or you're developing pains in the wrong areas, consult a professional, don't give up because you can't do it. There may be an issue with your health that could be making it hard for you, check with your doctor. Find out what excersises (muscles) would be best to work out and what routines would be bad for you (like crunches on a hard floor with a back back isn't gonna work). The more you know, the less you grow.

I did a little research and came up with this quickie:
hyperparathyroidism - excessive secretion of parathyroid hormone resulting in abnormally high levels of calcium in the blood; can affect many systems of the body (especially causing bone resorption and osteoporosis)
genitourinary - of or related to the genital and urinary organs or their functions; "genitourinary infections"
In case anyone wanted to learn something.

No fast food, replace chips, candy, etc...for fruits. Cut out the pop and drink water. Do crunchers and take a 45 min. walk every morning. Doing exercise in the morning is suppose to speed up your metabolism for the day. Also, NO snacks before bed time. That food just sits there and turns into fat cells.
Have a good one!

It depends how fat of a fuck you are. If you are seriously obese your probaly the type of person that complains about any kind of physical movement so you don't have to do it, if your overweight you have a better chance of losing weight. I have no respect, sympathy, empathy for fat people. I used to be one and its really all about lifestyle choices not willpower. What you need to do is cut out processed foods like fizzy drinks, they are the worst thing you can consume because they bloat you out. Avoid junk food like macdonalds, eat it as a treat like its supposed to be (once a month). Eat whole foods like sunflower seeds, cashew nuts, these are a few examples of the thousands of thing's available in your local food shop that you probaly never even new exsisted. Eat chicken, rice, fruits, vegetables, you can still eat bad food and because you eat it less often you will enjoy it more, no doubt. You don't have to go crazy and only eat organic no preservative foods, but the majority of your food in a day should not be processed, your main meal for example should be quality. Drink water, fat people tend to sweat more and sometimes hunger is confused for thirst so keep that in mind.
Also I found that extensive exercise is not a good thing, people go from lying around to 3-4 times of cardio a day including rigorous weight training of different muscles, its really quite dull for most people and only really suited to phychotics, by all means inculde these thing's but have a very low minimum standard so that your more than likely to continue doing it for sometime, not get fed up and drop the whole thing. Working out once or twice a week, 15 reps x 2 for biceps and side raises, dumbell flys ( if you have a bench), and most importantly 30 minutes of aerobic exercise a week, if you maintain one session like this (just one) a week you will burn a shit load of calories just sitting on your ass, guaranteed.

once a day get up off the sofa and go outside and run about till your sweating a lot and you feel like ur about to die. If your fat this wont take up much of your time. Do this everyday for a few months and you will be able to eat whatever you like. When im stoned i eat anything and everything yet im slim and toned ;) I do play football 4/5x a week (thats real football americans not rugby in shoulder pads) and that keeps me fit and trim even after 400000 burgers. Secondly get ur stoumach stapled and then you canna eat so much.

I used to be an overweight smoker. At my peak, I was around 290lbs and a 52 waist. Yeah, it sucked! Now I'm about 260 and a 44 waist. Feels so good to shop 'off the rack' again.
Anyway, my weight was a combination of emotional eating and bad portion control. I'd go to McDonalds and have a super-sized Big Mac meal AND 2 cheeseburgers. Having the 'munchies' while smoking has never been an issue. Just that my eyes are sometimes too big for my stomach...
Anyway, I'll echo some advice in that keep alot of fruit and vegetables around the house to munch on. Grapes and green peppers (not together) were my two favorite snack items. Also, I would smoke AFTER I ate. This way when I was eating, I wouldn't have an excuse to gorge myself. Also, just excersise. I lost all my weight by walking 4 miles a day, every day. I would drive to the beach, smoke, and then do my walk. 5 months later, my health improved that much that I actually started jogging instead of walking.

I used to be HUGE, I used to be about 5'6, 280 pounds and I was fuckin MISERABLE. It was so embarrassing for me. I was 13 or 14 years old and the doctor wanted to check and see if I had rheumetoid arthritis because my knees and ankles were always sore. We found out I was just fat.....
Anyway, they say that smoking pot makes you lethargic and lazy, but I don't think thats true.
I started smoking pot, and I started hanging out with a lot of females and a lot of cute ones and I hated being the fat kid, ya know?
So, about a year and a half ago, maybe almost two years ago...I started going to the store with my moms, picking out stuff that tasted good but wasn't TOO fattening. I never looked at carbs or calories, I always looked at grams of fat, and saturated fat.
I also bought 10 pound training weights, 1 for each wrist and ankle and every night I worked out (getting ripped beforehand, when I could), and every other night I would walk at least 3 miles. By the end of it, I could work out and walk 6 miles every night (took about 3 months). I did a whole bunch of stuff that I don't even know the names to, but it worked.
I lost 50 pounds and gained a metabolism. I found out a lot about myself, like how I'd eat when I was bored and that accounted for a lot of the extra fats I was taking in, or I'd eat when I was depressed or angry etc etc. Its a terrible thing to take all that emotion out on your own body.
You'd be amazed at how wonderful the human body is, though. If you just stop eating when you're bored or angry or sad, and just eat when you're HUNGRY, and stop when you're FULL, you'll find you can lose or maintain your weight. I've kep the weight off this entire time by doing that. I don't work out or exercise anymore but I built my metabolism up so I just eat when I'm hungry and I'm fine.

This is what I tell my wife all the time. We both like to eat. I don't mind excersizing where as it's a chore for her. So instead, she wants to buy all this 'speciality' crap from the grocery store. I tell her, "Stop worrying about what you eat, just get you ass up and work it off when you're done." One day, she'll get the hint...or be big as a house!

i want you to stay away from meth. never even try it. it will ruin you life.....sorry you just remind me of this girl i used to know who turned into a fucking meth MONSTER, she could never do enough speed even if she spent 24/7/365.
Not to say that you are even close to the same as her mentally, she was probably a little nuts to start off with.
Also everyone should stop drinking soda pop altogether. I stopped when i had to sit there for 5 min and try to pick a soda that looked good and they all looked gross to me. so i went and got a huge bottle of water instead...PERFECT it quenches your thirst, keeps you healthy and hydrated and doesn't put tons of sugar into you, which turns straight into fat. besides soda tears up your stomach lining and causes alot of problems if all you drink is caffinated soda.

it might sound stupid or tedious but keeping a food journal/counting calories really helps. you are much more aware of what you are putting into your body and you're more likely to restrain yourself. i lost 40 lbs this way and i've keep it off for about two years. but it really depends on the person. try out different things and see what works for you, and stick with it!

I have been fortunate enough to lose 48lbs since Oct. of 05. I know, not as much as it should be, but I didn't even intend to lose the weight. I just, sort of did, but here is what I did.
Everyone has a job, if you don't, then you need to get off your bum and do some workouts. Forget staying inside doing pushups and shit, I found the best thing to do is to get outside. I ride my bike everyday now. I'm guessing easily 5-7km per day. Before, I had a physical job where I walked all day, lifting heavy items, and pulling them with pump jacks. Not only that, I rode my bike to and from work, up a huge hill on the way home.
If you have a job where you sit down all day, you must do some sort of workout. Try riding a bike to and from work, or start off slower by walking to work.
The key to losing weight is to burn off more calories than you take in. If the munchies are a problem, put down the candy bar or chips, and munch on something healthier. Fruit is AWESOME baked, I love it.
I cut alcohol out of my diet 100%. 1 bottle of beer packs about 350 calories. Mulitiply that by 12 beers in a night. Fri. Sat. night. TONS of calories, will make you fat in no time. If you like drinking though, drink hard booze, with diet soda, or juice.
Eat only when you're hungry, and try not to munch out. Cure the munchies by getting rid of cottonmouth with some kind of liquid. Water is good. ;)
Hope this helps somewhat. Getting a good workout, everyday, will help you lose weight. Doing a workout once a week will do jack shit, or getting a sundae when you lost 2lbs to celebrate will do no good either.
Bye.

Cut down on all drinks cept water ( they kill you with the carbs) that means no soda, and only natural juice once in a while. Start working out, running kills fat and the gym kills calories. Eat carbs only during the day, stay away from grains, breads, potatoes, corn, and other carbs at night. It worked for me i lost like 30 pounds, and i get to munch on bomb candy anyway cuz i just run it off.

the munchies dont need to be cured by chips, candy and icecream. Try fruits and veggies
Ya know, I had a good comeback for that. I used to say "Yeah, I tried that. But then I would just pick up the spoon."
Anyway, I used to be fat, still kinda am. I am 5'10'' and weigh 280. However, when I went to my Doctor he said that was good cause I have a good muscle to body fat ratio. So just cause I'm fat doesn't mean I'm lazy. I actually have a pretty damn good body underneath all of that.
Another thing, you know that all these fat people would have been considered SEXY in the 17-18th century?! Man, that would have been the time to be fat.:p

I think back then being fat meant you were wealthy enough to afford to eat.
I just ate almost a whole container of raspberries. They were huge and sweet and yumm-O and I had a couple chunks of watermelon.

I think many people have the idea of weight loss in the wrong way.
It's not so much about what you eat, but how you burn it off. You could eat a shitload and turn it all towards lean muscle mass with the exception of eating sugary foods. Which is why the best thing you can do for yourself is stop drinking soda. It tastes spendid, but it's shit for your body.
In order to loss weight, you need to learn how to maintain weight. I know some people think going to the gym is vain, and "boring" but you really only have to do it twice a week consistantly, run, bike, swim, even walk a couple times a week and the body starts self-weight maintenance involuntarily, and you don't have to focus so much on watching what you eat, and you feel good in the process. Doing little things like taking the stairs instead of the escalator and what not helps as well. Any activity burns calories, but the fact is the more strenous the activity the more fat you are going to burn.

just like most other things, it's all in the mindset, if you REALLY want to lose that weight you will, you have to motivate yourself, set yourself a min. limit to do durring a day that could help, jogging/walking/other forms of strenous activity, and make sure you meet that qouta everyday, start off small, even 5sit ups before bed is better then nothing, then just keep working up and up. most importantly you have to have patients, it takes alot more time to lose weight then to gain it, so don't expect to see that weight peel off you as fast as it built up in the first place, unless you're just lucky. also, don't let anyone convince you you are anything but beautiful, if you feel ugly, you will be ugly and that's all there is to it...

Yeah just fucking diet and excersize. This may seem like a shock to you, I know, but I have actually seen people loose weight just by eating less or better and moving around a bit more.
If you're really looking to provide your body with what nature intended you should look into essential fatty acids. You can get these in the form of a fish oil capsule, hemp seed or hemp oil. Hemp provides omega-3 and omega-6 in the perfect ratio and hemp seed is also 33% protein.
Niacin (Vitamin B3) can be supplemented to promote energy, metabolism and nervous system health. This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA and niacin is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

in recent years it's been discovered that not everyone can lose weight just by dieting and excersizing, there are other things that play a role in weight gain/loss as well, one of the main things being stress (and no i didn't just get that from that damn commercial) i have personally witnessed people dieting right, excersizing right, and when they should have lost a substantial ammount of weight (we're talking over the period of 6 months or more of constant eating right, excersizing and all that shit) they've not lost any weight, if they haven't gained more...

It's hard to say unless you're on top of what the person is eating or doing at all hours of the day. Stress may be a factor which is why I encourage people to try getting their essential fatty acids. They just do so much to keep your body and mind running smoothly that I have no doubt those deficient (most of you) would be more prone to stress, depression or disease.

i pretty much was on top of them all day, i lived with them... i'm sorry i had to make this point, i just know there are people out there who assume everyone that's fat is just a lazy ass who doesn't want to try, and then makes fun of them or otherwise, makes it physically/emotionally difficult for them to continue with what they're doing, i mean who really wants to keep doing stuff they don't like to begin wtih, when all it's getting them, is a bunch of BS.

And find exercise you love...I am lazy and hate to exercise, but I actually found that I enjoy some forms of yoga and bellydance! Basically just ingest natural, whole foods, get some sort of exercise, stay hydrated, and try something like hoodia or TrimSpa or some other stuff....

Walk. I spent two weeks in Vegas and lost twenty pounds. Twenty fucking pounds in two weeks, can you believe that shit? I wasn't drinking pop and eating pizza either. Oh, and cutting out the pop really helps. A 2-liter of pop is around 1000 calories. A 2-liter of Vault, for instance, has 960 calories in it. Don't eat so much fast food, cut back on the pizza, and take a walk. I know it's gay as hell, but trust me. I was a little overweight before I lost this twenty.
Points:
-Don't drink pop, drink applejuice or low-cal drinks.
-Fast food is a no-no except maybe 3-4 times a month, and cut back on pizza
-Walk
-If you do this for just 2 weeks, you'll see a huge difference. Carry it on for six weeks, you'll drop 30 pounds easy bro.
And that is the weight-loss program of a stoner. PS. Walking really fucking sucks, but it's better than riding a bike. Just walk like a half an hour a day.

If you want to loose some weight you need to eat less calories. for each kg the body needs one calory pr houor.Meaning if you weigh 60 kg your body will need 60 ch x 24 houers =1140c. If you want to loose 2 kg you drop 48 c pr day and so on. If you take a 20-30 min fast walk every day you should see the results pretty fast. But remember when one diets you loos lots of fluids before fat. And you wil experience that you actually will gain some weight but that will pass. It's yust jour body trying to work against you. Remember that your fatcells will always try to regain the fat they use and loose. Good luck. But most of all: Stand tall and be proud, cause we are all spesiall. There are 3,000 calories in 1 pound of fat. Therefore to lose 1 pound of fat, you must create a caloric defecit of 3,000 calories for your body to consume 1 pound of fat. You do this by eating less and exercising more. Stay away from sodas, little debbie snack cakes, and fast food. Move your fat ass more and eat less... eat as much salads and vegitables as you want , but go easy on the dressing because salad dressing has high fat content.
Drink LOTS of water. Cut out sodas and substitute soda for club soda mixed with natural juice. Don't eat so many carbohydrates (i.e. pasta, white breads... ) and eat more lean protein (such as chicken and fish).
try to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

If you want to loose a lot of fat weight and pack on some muscle try to eat things like grilled chicken breast, turkey, ham, any type of fish, and lean beefs for your protein intake... You really only have to worry about the fat content of beef... I eat 98% fat free lean beef and use it to make hamburger patties. Eat only whole wheat grains... whole wheat bread bagels and pasta. Make sure and eat plenty of vegetables and fruit, and your complex carbs that come from things like baked potatoes and your whole wheat grains. If possible try to eat 6 meals a day or every two to three hours, but these meals will be slightly smaller than the meals people eat three times a day. Eating every two to three hours will keep your body busy digesting food and boost your metabolism. Also you have to make sure to burn more calories than you take in a day... So that means don't eat too much or do some cardio or lift waits or hell... we're all smokers here so find a nearby place to go hiking and blaze one.. or two.. or three, or however many you please to burn. A year ago i was 5'10 and i weighed 230 pounds... Today i am 5'11 and i weigh 168 and eat, workout, and am built like a body builder. If you're serious about loosing weight in a manner that is healthy... stay away from fad diets... they'll make you loose weight quick while you're on them but they are bad for you and as soon as you eat normal again you gain everything you lost right back and most of the time get heavier than you were to begin with. If you want to see all the foods that are good for you to eat and will help you loose fat and build quality muscle go to a bodybuilders site like jay cutler or ronnie coleman. Look at the list of foods they eat and all of those are good for you. Dieting doesn't mean you have to eat food that tastes horrible and has the texture of cardboard. My normal foods are in the morning i make a full carton of egg beaters which have no fat in them and lower cholesterol than normal eggs... taste and look just as good as normal. 50 grams of protein in them not counting the added ham and cheese. Along with this i eat a cup of natural oatmeal. for the rest of the day i eat whole wheat bagel sandwhiches with ham and turkey and mustard, protein shakes, some more eggs, turkey burgers, 98% fat free lean beef burgers, whole wheat pasta, and brown rice. When i'm bulking and aiming on adding muscle mass i eat the same foods but a lot more of them... if you're aiming on getting lean you must eat 2 to 3 grams of protein per pound of body mass, and 1 to 2 grams of good carbs per pound of body mass.. make sure and eat things like nuts and fish that have good fat in them... you have to eat fat to burn fat. stay away from drinks with sugar in them and foods with sugar in them other than fruits. The best time to eat or drink anything with sugar in it is right after you work out because your muscles devour them and they start the repairing process... If you want more advice you can email me at
[email protected]... if not, good luck with loosin the pounds.

I actually lose weight from weed.
I only eat when I'm high and have the muchies, and I eat so much, that I don't eat a whole lot when I don't have the munchies. I mean I do, but I just don't crave the food as intense when I'm not high. I'm not talking skin & bones but I don't gain weight, and I'm sorta skinny :D

Please really think about that before you have it. my mom had that done and it fucked her world up. The stapels that connected her stomach to her intestines came loose and her bowls leaked into her body causing her to go into septic shock. She was in a induced coma for 2 and a half months. In the hospital for 3 and a half months all togethe. It was suck a hard thing to go to the hospital and sit by her bedside hooked up to tons of machines she couldnt even breath for herself. She lost her ability to walk, feed herself, write everything that we take for granted. She had to learn to do everything all over again. When she came home I had to quit school to take care of her. Where they had to go back in a do a emergancy surgery she no longer has a belly button and they didt stich her back up they let it heal from the inside out. So I had to dress her wound 2 times a day it was about 10 inces long and 4 to 5 inches deep. To this day she still doesnt have her strength back, she lost all her hair and even though it has grown back its still really thin. Its been about 4 yrs and she will never be the same again. Please make this surgery your last resort. Its very dangerous and something that you cant take back. Your only 15 and really need to think about what the rest of your likfe will be like after this surgery. Yes you may loose alot of weight and fell better about yourself but its not worth it from my point of view.

Hey, WayoftheLeaf, seriously, is there any way that, if you're determined to have bariatric (weight-loss) surgery, you might consider lap banding instead? For a young person, especially, it's much less invasive--and it's not as permanent as having the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. It's also now proven to be equally successful to gastric bypass in helping folks lose weight. Dro Princess has given you an example of gastic bypass complications that aren't pretty, and there are many more where that came from. The rate of complications for that surgery is much higher than what is standardly provided by doctors, and when those complications occur, they're very rough, as Dro P has given you an example of.
I say this out of concern for your long-term health which, at 15, is still well out in your future. I also know what it's like to have had one's insides rearranged, although fortunately not from gastric bypass surgery. When I was 28, my appendix ruptured and I ended up getting peritonitis. I was lucky to have survived that experience (they put me in a medically induced coma for that, too, Dro P), and I've had several rearranging/cleanout surgeries since then. As a result of the scarring and re-sectioning of my gut, I no longer absorb food or nutrients like others do, and I can tell that this affects my overall body chemistry in a big way. Former Roux-en-Y gastric bypass patients report the same sorts of problems, in their cases particularly iron, B12 and calcium deficiencies, some very severe.
Anyway, WayoftheLeaf, give the lap banding procedure some thought, too, if you're determined to do surgery, and have your parents read about the risks/complications of both types of procedures before you sign up for the bypass. Good luck to you!

All the fat-hate in this thread is horrible.
As a fat person, i'm pretty happy with the way I look, and so is my mate. I work a full time job where im on my feet, and I'm a very active person. Not everyone who is fat is fat because they're sitting on their ass eating bon-bons.
Why can't we just fucking respect each other, and not give a shit about weight? Jesus christ people, honestly, hate does nothing, especially if you're trying to convince someone to loose weight. They've already been hated on enough, and being called "fat slobs" is only going to make them feel worse and eat more.

Start respecting your body and maybe people will respect you.
but no don't come on a little kiddie stoner site looking for sympathy about your weight. more beneficial to start reading and answer your own questions before posting on here and having the "stoner community" answer. LMAO

The only stoner-specific advice I'm going to give is get all the unhealthy finger food out of your house and out of your life so it isn't there when your will is weakend by the munchies. Pickles and olives and grapes are where it's at. Not that olives are low fat, but they are still good for you. Same with pistachios... fiber=good... taking off the shells takes forever so it's tough to overindulge.
All the rest of the being healthy shit should be pretty obvious to you already.

Considering I'm an active, happy person, I think I'm going to be around for quite awhile. People of any weight can be unhealthy, and being overweight doesn't automatically make one NOT healthy. Live and let live dude, fucking light one up and get over it. You'll live a lot longer if you stop worrying so much about other people.

the fat hate. i love when people talk like that. buddy, being on y our feet at work all day isnt being active. if you were really active and not eating bad, you wouldnt be fat, its that simple. im not saying you have to be and im not a fat hater, although there is no denying non fat people are better looking, i guess that goes without saying though. my point is if you really were active and eating well you wouldnt be fat, thats the bottom line, cause stone cold said so
and by the way, smoking isnt disrespecting your body. it causes absolutely no physical harm, and before you say well any kind of smoke has to be bad for you do a little research, find out your wrong on your own.

You're the one that needs to do research. It seems you've never heard of anything called metabolic disorders or gland deficiencies.
tell me your work out regimen please and also your daily diet. im fully aware of that, have read the article, and i believe it to be yet another classic example of people blaming their problems on a medical condition that while it may exist, could be overcome, like depression. dont get me wrong im not one of those people who doesnt believe in mental illness. but whatever, really it means nothing to me. if telling yourself it is something elses fault you are fat and not your own makes you happy, thats cool by me. whatever lets you sleep at night i say:thumbsup:

There always exceptions, but this is for like .01% of the world. The other 99.99% all they need to do is eat healthy and exercise a bit.
The weight loss industry tries to make weight loss more complex than it really is. Lots of people give terrible advice on weight loss, making it such a complex issue. It's really not.
You don't even have to do anything drastic. Simply cut back on the junk, and move around a little more. In time you'll lose weight automatically. However the harder you work at it, the more benefit you get out of it.
i agree. that was my point with the depression remark as well. i do believe both exist. i also believe that most people who say they have either of those conditions are lying to themselves.

Since wrestling season ended, i've had to work a little harder to stay healthy. what i do:
-eliminate ALL fast food. this means subway too.
-when your at the grocery store, only buy healthy food. i start with the vegetable isle, get some fruit and veggies, then buy some whole weat bread, eggs, some rice, beans, granola, milk, and some lean meat. that's it. don't buy anything processed, or you WILL eat it. the key is not even having it around.
-do 20-30 minutes of hard lifting and sprinting every day. it's not much time, and the high is better than the best weed around. this is also key.
last week i noticed i had put on some pounds, and just by eliminating one thing from my diet (frozen ravioli), i was able to cut back down to where i want to be. it takes a little discipline, but it comes natural after a while...

bodom, and all you others, relax.....there are many more people than you think with disorders/deficiencies that make them heavy....
i myself have a disorder called cushings disease that kept me heavy for a few years, but fortunately it began to subside and with atkins it came off...but that doesnt happen for everyone....as a nurse, i have seen people get bigger and bigger because of hormones, tumors, all kinds of things, even though they had good diet and exercise...
hating fat people is just another form of racism, and it is unacceptable here...the next post about it, you are banned...sorry

this works well for me when i get the munchies.
you need a blender with a shit-load of ice, a tub for your fave crystal light flavor and a BIG bowl.
i fill the blender up with ice about 3-quarters, then top with water. add one of those tubs of crystal light and blend into an icee until you get the right consistency, adding more water if needed.
the really great thing about crystal light is its mostly calorie/carb-free, and you can munch as much as you like. it satisfies my need to chew.

*reads topic*
Wow there is some rude arrogant assholes in this topic.
When I stopped smoking cigarettes a few years ago my weight started skyrocketing. I've always been somewhat overweight since I was like 8 years old I never cared and was happy with myself before, but it went extreme to the point I am unhappy about it now. I was 5'10" 230lbs when I quit smoking. I'm now 340lbs. That weight was gained in the last 3 and 1/2 years.
I am a fast food junkie, have been since I was a kid. The general trait I find is if it's not a burger and fries I won't like it. Eating healthy is not exactly easy for everyone. What if you hate healthy foods? I hate chicken and fish I hate all veggies and I can only eat so much fruit before I get very sick of it (to the point that thinking about it makes me gag). You should enjoy the foods you eat, bottom line. I do drink a lot of Tea and Water as I have to have something to drink at all times and while I love soda it usually gives me heartburn so lots of water and tea for me so thats not a problem.
The things I love to do, the things I absolutely like doing aren't physical (gaming, movie/tv watching, reading) I'll be damned if I spend all week working my ass off at work and class then when I finally get a few hours on the weekend, spend it doing something I absolutely loathe..no I'm going to spend my free time doing something I like doing.
Oh and don't give me the will power speech, I smoked for nearly a decade was up to 2 packs a day and one day I decided to quit and I quit and haven't smoked a cigarette since then. That's willpower.
Willpower is not the problem, the problem is my personal tastes, the enjoyment of life. I could be miserable and hate my life but feel good health wise or I can enjoy my life, but feel miserable health wise. This is the problem I currently feel like I face.
