my wife sent it to me.... it was forwarded from about 200-300 people

Think about this: If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone

YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM !! Will we still be the Country of choice and still be AMERICA if we continue tomake the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in AMERICA because it is the Country of Choice? ? ?

Think about it!

All we have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS?

I celebrate Christmas...........but because it isn't celebrated by everyone..........we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings.

It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday?

We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that.
This says it all!

This is an editorial written by an
American citizen, published in a
Tampa newspaper.

He did quite a job; didn't he?

Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS,
NOT AMERICANS,
MUST ADAPT.

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority
of Americans. However...... the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America.
Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants.
However, there
are a few things that those
who have recently come to
our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.
This idea of America being a
multicultural community
has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans......
we have our own culture, our
own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part
of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women......on Christian Principles.............
founded this nation..... and this is clearly documented.
It is certainly appropriate to display it
on the walls of our schools.
If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the worl d as
your new home.........because
God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or
you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move
to another part of this planet.

WE are happy with our culture and have
no desire to change, and we really
don't care how you did things where
you came from.

This is
OUR COUNTRY,
our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we
will allow you every opportunity to do so!

But once you are done complaining....... whining...... and griping.......

about our flag....... our pledge......

our national motto........or our
way of life....

I highly encourage you to
take advantage of one other

Great American Freedom......

THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

AMEN:thumbsup:

yo gumster, sup? what exactly are you meaning when you say they should read their bibles again? i'm currently reading the da vinci code series for the first time (yeh yeh i know, very surprising....) and this should be good.

the bible is only 4 of the 31 know gospels first of all... so they should also read more than just the bible...

but christianity, the way that post infers, is flawed from the foundation... there is no where in the bible where it tells you to build a church, have preachers, popes, bishops or anything of that matter... that Church is a sin in itself...

"The Kingdom of God is all Around us look under a rock and you will find him split a piece of wood and he'll be there"

the church was created and used for power... that's it...

their beliefs from the bible that they need to read again...

chirstmas... a pagan holiday... learn history...

"the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others."

it's the religious right, the same people who are passing this email around who want the censure the media and the words that are allowed to be said. It is/was the chruch that created cursed words... and the only reason some words aren't allowed to be said... like, shit - piss - fuck - cunt - cock sucker - mother fucker - and tits (carlin is god :) )... but the words were only profane because they weren't used in the house of the lord... but it was a lot more than the selective censuring amerika is using. It's being hypocrytical to want your God and Idols spread around, breaking on of the Ten Commandments, and want to be rightous at the same time...

"4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"

Why fight for something that is breaking a commandment??

"We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part
of our society, learn the language!"

that's just ignorance... we're the only country who thinks it's ok to only know one language... it's not called a national language it's called being too stupid to learn another languange... same reason all the stupid amerikans that travel think the world is stupid cause they don't know english... we're not that great and our language isn't unique... perhaps you should learn that english came from spainish and that it plays a large roll in how we talk.. that's just ignorance and nothing to do with the bible

" "In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women......on Christian Principles.............
founded this nation..... and this is clearly documented. "

that's just stupid... find the word God, Christ, or anything christian in the Declaration or Consitution... it's not there... for the main reason they didn't want the church involved in politics...

In God We Trust wasn't from our forfathers either... that's just ignorance...

"From Treasury Department records, it appears that the first such appeal came in a letter dated November 13, 1861."

our country was foudned 100 year prior...

I don't really know what more you were looking for... ask questions if you feel like it, I love getting high and thinking about religion and how fucked up it is...

here are a few quotes from our founding fathers, perhaps they'll help get a better understanding of this country as it was founded...

A free people [claim] their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate.
Thomas Jefferson, Rights of British America, 1774

All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression.
Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801

And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.
Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781

But if we are to be told by a foreign Power ... what we shall do, and what we shall not do, we have Independence yet to seek, and have contended hitherto for very little.
George Washington, letter to Alexander Hamilton, May 8, 1796

Citizens by birth or choice of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations.
George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796

Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.
George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796

A nation under a well regulated government, should permit none to remain uninstructed. It is monarchical and aristocratical government only that requires ignorance for its support.
Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1792

But where says some is the King of America? I'll tell you Friend, he reigns above, and doth not make havoc of mankind like the Royal Brute of Britain...let it be brought forth placed on the divine law, the word of God; let a crown be placed thereon, by which the world may know, that so far as we approve of monarchy, that in America THE LAW IS KING.
Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776

If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.
Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 19, 1776

The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind.
Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776

shelbay, I believe that everyone has the right to believe and practice what they choose... and I do not think that a person should change their faith or beliefs if they understand them...

But when ignorance and blind faith come into play I cannot stand it. I do not know what you believe and don't want this to be feel like a personal attack either... I was only pointing out the flaws of the first post and how it claims to be of christian faith.

That letter is not of christian faith and makes a joke of the teachings of Jesus... and I am a believer in Jesus and Faith as much as you are. Just because I think the Church has ruined religion and don't follow that type of religion doesn't mean I don't think you should worship or practice the way you do...

But that is not Christian and I will defend my faith in Jesus just like you will... I'd just suggest reading more things about his life than what has been selectivly chosen to be in the bible (you don't really think King James was alive and hung out with that white jesus do you??)

I don't think religion is debated when it talked about... I think it is only debated because one person isn't assurd of thier own religion. Otherwise it's only a discussion, because we should be able to believe in different things. It's the Church that has caused 'debate' in religion, mainly because people who follow that faith aren't assurd with it... they mistake 'faith' with 'blind following' ... faith comes after knowing what you believe not while you're trying to figure it out.

Gumby, your confusing the Catholic Philosophy with the rest of Christianity.

And yes..there are only 4 Gospels, the other books that arent in the Bible, arent there for a reason

Gumby
05-25-2006, 10:47 PM
no they were left out on purpose... the rest of 'christianity' has taken all of it's pratices and beliefs from the Catholic Church...

what is your reason for the other gospels to not be included?? the first four aren't any more important than the rest... there are only four included in the bible because they are the ones that fit the churchs goals best... look into history it's all pretty well recorded and/or discovered by now... it's just 'chirsitians' still believe in the fatal, ignorant idea that they are right because god is on thier side so they don't question thier belief in the 'god' they 'know' they question the people around thier god or a different god... question your own belief of who/what 'god' is and you'll see that Christians, a majority of them, believe in the catholic idea and wrong idea of God.

I propose that the ancient peoples had a better sense of how to live than us. This was before "religion" as we know it - more than 10 thousand years ago. They took various natural substances, and herbs, to improve their minds and bodies. When the supplies started drying up, due to the Ice Age and other natural causes, they created stockpiles with armies to guard them. Eventually, they replaced the sacred mushrooms and other sacraments with liquor, useless rituals, and other self-destructive behaviors. Things have been going downhill for the human race ever since.

I'd suggest reading Terrence McKenna's books for further information on this topic. I also liked The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross: A Study of the Nature and Origins of Christianity within the Fertility Cults of the Ancient Near East by John Marco Allegro - his theories may not be 100% accurate, but the ideas are interesting. Some experts have disputed the importance of psychedelic mushrooms, and claim that other drugs were more prevalent. Either way, it's all very interesting.

Here Here Gumby, so true i'm sure most of the media is and all behind the scenes running the programs and choosing particular stories so certain ones don't get let out like how much abuse goes on in these organizations/churches and worst still they know about it and cover it up.Shameful and they think that god would truely be like that if there is such a thing.

Who cares where the English language came from and whether it is unique? It doesn't matter. What does matter is a common language for everyone to communicate. You have not thought this part out.
My criticism of you, and too many Americans in my opinion, is the inability to take thinking to the next level. We are given instead of taught.

Whenever I talk with people who travel, no one has ever said "We had a good time except when we went to _____ (fill in the blank). They were so stupid because they couldn't speak English." Maybe it's just the people who you associate with that are ill mannered and thoughtless.

One of the things that America gets it's strength from is our ability to adapt. Problems? Yes, as do all walks of life. We are a young country that is just over 250 years old and we are still growing. Has any country as diverse as ours come as far as we have in the last 250 years?

I'm proud to be an American. It has offered me so many opportunities to grow and live my life. I truely wish everyone, no matter where they live or what they believe in, could have the opportunities that I have had in the United States. The old saying "Life is what you make it" still applies in my world.

I didn't say that we should change our national language and everyone should learn how to speak spanish...

I was pointing out the fact that america is stupid, as a whole.... in most other countries children are taught more than one language... it's a way of life and needed... amerika is the only country who thinks it's rightous enough to only have one language and that everyone who comes here must learn our language...

that's ignorance... the same thing and reason I gave in the first post... I only speak one language... I'm ignorant in that part, but it's cause I could sleep though the classes in highschool and it didn't matter... I wasn't taught how important communuicating with other people from other countries was... I was taught that Amerika was the best and everyone else should be like us..

but then I realized not knowing a language is much less ignorant than thinking the one single language you know should be the correct one..

I mean read the first book of your bible and you'll see how ignorant of a feat it is to create a united nation under god with a single dominate language...

Genesis 11:1-9
"Now the entire earth was of one language and uniform words. 2 And it came to pass when they traveled from the east, that they found a valley in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 And they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and fire them thoroughly"; so the bricks were to them for stones, and the clay was to them for mortar. 4 And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered upon the face of the entire earth". 5 And the Lord descended to see the city and the tower that the sons of man had built. 6 And The LORD said, "Lo! [they are] one people, and they all have one language, and this is what they have commenced to do. Now, will it not be withheld from them, all that they have planned to do? 7 Come, let us descend and confuse their language, so that one will not understand the language of his companion". 8 And the Lord scattered them from there upon the face of the entire earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore, He named it Babel, for there the Lord confused the language of the entire earth, and from there the Lord scattered them upon the face of the entire earth."

I mean just look at the 'reason' there are different languages in the first place, according to your bible... there is another oximoron for your ignorant religion...

Where did you go to school? I was never taught that America was the best and everyone else should be like us. I finished public High School over 25 years ago and it was mandatory to have two years of a foreign language to graduate.

How many different countries with their different national languages can you drive through in a day in Europe? You can drive in a straight line for 3000 miles in the U.S. of A. and you'd still be in a country that speaks English as it's main language.

Maybe you slept through the part about how important it is to communicate.

The language requirements are still in place at my old High School. The overall requirements are tougher now.
I am still curious as to what area you received your schooling. The things you were taught are different from what I was taught as well as what my buddies kids are being taught. If you don't want to answer that, fine, I won't pursue it.

You didn't comprehend my meaning. Since you seem big on advice, here's some for you "Don't just read the words, think about their meaning".
The point, which I don't think you really understand, is you made an all encompassing statement based on the education you received. While "sleeping" I might add, those are your words. For some reason you believe what you did or didn't learn is typical of Americans. I don't think you've thought the whole situation out.

I was enrolled in Okaloosa Walton Community College when I was in 9th grade and took college classes until I was accepted to UF(went in with close to 40 hours my freshman year). I can bring out my year book and show you the other leadership rolls I had with clubs and sports if you'd like... I was one of the smartest kids in a class of 800+ and was assurd of that after the 7 FCAT tests my class was ordered to take beacuse of the horrible education system we have...

after leaving FWBHS and coming to UF, the largest and from what I was told the hardest public college to get into in FL, I was again confronted with teachers who are too incompetent to even teach... I slept a lot in college as well... one out of about 5 teachers actually took the time to teach the class information rather than sit infrom of the class and reread notes from the book...

I may not have a 'typical' upbringing in the educational system, but before you think it was for the worse, I'd suggest you use your own idea and "'think' the whole situation out."

I don't think my statment meant every person in america... I think you made that logical fallacy. I do think I said the education system is crap... the one I went through, the one I had no choice to go through until I chose the hardest school in my state...

Our education system, the same one that you went through, has been destroyed. Teachers aren't held in high esteem, American Idols are. Education and knowledge isn't a goal that many kids share... they want to make a lot of money and be popular. The smart kids are nerds and get made fun of where it's 'hot' to be as dumb as a box of rocks.

I think you have may have just been offened by my comments, which if you were they weren't meant to be personal... something I state on here often...
But to think that Amerika's educational system in anything close to good is a joke. I do take blame myself and said it was my own ignorance as to why I know only one language.... i take all blame for anything I do now know or have taken the time to learn... But to think that amerikan ideas and amerikas way of life supports good education is a joke... no matter where you go to school...

and perhaps I wouldn't have been asleep if I was taught something at school... I didn't fall asleep because I was enganged in a good conversation or anything informational for that matter... I fell asleep cause the teachers were too busy reteaching all the idiots in my class how to do basic things that 5th graders should know.... not because I didn't want to learn...

But that is just what I have seen and been through... so if you can... please explain to me how amerika can have such a great educational system, and where is it so that I can go there and actually learn something....

ps. one other system of measurement on how great our educational system works, look at how many idiots believe in creation and how many people understand evolution... <--- something this county itself debated heavily almost 100 years ago in court... something this country is still too ignorant and stupid to understand... so yes I do think I saw 'typical amerika' and I do think the 'typical amerikan' is stupid or ignorant... please explain to me why I shouldn't??

same reason all the stupid amerikans that travel think the world is stupid cause they don't know english.

I was pointing out the fact that america is stupid, as a whole.

How many more times are you going to throw all Americans into a group and call them stupid and then deny it?

I do think I said the education system is crap... the one I went through, the one I had no choice to go through until I chose the hardest school in my state...

You make this statement, but you still don't get it. I'll spell it out again. You are taking a very minute part of the education system and haphazardly applying it to America as a whole. To say "most" is still way off base.

I agree with some of the things you say here but that has always been the case, hasn't it? You're talking popularity. Smarts and popularity are two different things. Education and knowledge are big factors in bringing in the money. (Also don't you think the nerds make fun of the dummies?)

You need to learn from your mistakes. You keep grouping everything into a one size fits all and it doesn't.
Twenty of the twenty three high schools located in the county where I grew up, were in the top 500 high schools in the nation. I believe it was in Newsweek or USA Today a few years back. Ironic that Einstein was one of the three not in the top 500. Your theory of "no matter where you go to school" is, once again, all encompassing and untrue.

and perhaps I wouldn't have been asleep if I was taught something at school... I didn't fall asleep because I was enganged in a good conversation or anything informational for that matter... I fell asleep cause the teachers were too busy reteaching all the idiots in my class how to do basic things that 5th graders should know.... not because I didn't want to learn...

Motivating students is an under appreciated teaching tool, IMO. I had some boring classes also.
There has been a push for year round schools. Too much time is spent relearning what you unlearned over the summer.

But that is just what I have seen and been through... so if you can... please explain to me how amerika can have such a great educational system, and where is it so that I can go there and actually learn something....

Ding, Ding, Ding we have a winner!!!!
"just what I've been through" now you're getting it.

And then you blow it with your next sentence. If you want the answer, look around.
Maybe the answer is you have to pursue it instead of sleeping through it.
See above on one of the many places to find a good education.

ps. one other system of measurement on how great our educational system works, look at how many idiots believe in creation and how many people understand evolution... <--- something this county itself debated heavily almost 100 years ago in court... something this country is still too ignorant and stupid to understand... so yes I do think I saw 'typical amerika' and I do think the 'typical amerikan' is stupid or ignorant... please explain to me why I shouldn't??

The Scopes Monkey Trial was eighty one years ago, not almost one hundred. A case on evolution vs creation makes America stupid? Your statement does not fall under "system of measurement".
In this thread you keep making the same mistakes and you refuse to learn from them.
Maybe you think the education system failed you. Even if that is true, you failing does not encompass America as a whole and does not make you a typical American. Just a sleepy head.

I was the president of Fort Walton Beach High School, in Fort Walton Beach, fl... I was president my junior and senior year... I was enrolled in Okaloosa Walton Community College when I was in 9th grade and took college classes until I was accepted to UF(went in with close to 40 hours my freshman year).

Ummmm... Gumby, why don't you just post your home address and where you stash your weed?

gray matter if your so afraid of smoking pot and the police... maybe you shouldn't be smoking... he asked I answered...

"In any civilized society, it is every citizen's responsibility to obey just laws. But at the same time, it is every citizen's responsibility to disobey unjust laws." -- Martin Luther King Jr.

"If people let government decide which foods they eat and medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny." -- Thomas Jefferson

pig- I still don't understand how you don't think I went through the 'typical education'... I spelled it out for you... I didn't go to one of the top 500 schools... I wasn't spose to... I didn't study under the smartest people in the world... it's not looked greatly upon.... It's not typical in america to want to get a great education.... compare america with most other countries and we are less smart as a whole... something I won't stop saying...

do we have great teachers, schools and education in the US, yes... I never said we didn't... I just said I lived the 'typical highschool life' got into the hardest college in my state and still found little in the terms of education...and I don't see why that is untypical.

America needs every highschool to teach like the ones from where you are... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I tried to learn, and I did more than most of my classmates did... it's not there... that's why there is another thread under this about how poor our educational system is... but keep bragging about your upbringing and what great schools you went to...

when typical america goes to school they don't learn shit... america is stupid... there is no hiding that... I don't care if you say that there are a few good schools out there, the majority of them are not... when you understand that, maybe you'll take what I'm saying and what I believe in a different light and remove your own self rightousness from it...

Umm...most of the founders of this country were Masonic. I love America, but ever since 9/11, I really do not appreciate all the patriotic paraphenalia flying all over. America is supposed to be a nation of all nations..where we all come together, not really having one single identity, but many identities!! Thats why there is no official language yet in America, but Bush wants to put an end to that, by making English THE national language. Nationalism is not good for the soul, as it tends to make an ego.

Just embrace the cultural diversity that exists in America. You will then find peace!

pig- I still don't understand how you don't think I went through the 'typical education'... I spelled it out for you...

Probably because you said you didn't.
Here is your quote from the post right before this one
"I may not have a 'typical' upbringing in the educational system, but before you think it was for the worse, I'd suggest you use your own idea and "'think' the whole situation out."

One post it was, the next it wasn't. Which is it?

Here is another one of your quotes "I was one of the smartest kids in a class of 800"

I want to know how a High School with grades 9-12 and an enrollment of ~1900 students can have 800 in a class?

It is obvious from your posts you don't really know which end is up.
