How does 1 properly FLUSH His Herb plant??

I'm new to growing and just started w/ a 75w cfl. I messed up when I gave my plants sum nuts(24/8/16) I didnt add it to the water but put it on the soil then watered. Plants looked healthy before I left town. I called a few days later and my wife said the leafs seem to be yellowing and curlin' down.
I found your site and sum 1 mentioned flushing. I figured what it meant, but don't exactly know how.Help anyone?? These are just sum sprouts I found outside my home. Doing good off the cfl around 3" above plants. Heres what they look like: (any help would be nice):thumbsup:

It means to take filtered water if u have it. PH the water to 6.5-6.8.
Then pour it in untill it all drains out of the bottom.

Then do it again.
Not to sure how much you should do it, but basically u attempt to "flush" out all of the nutes u put in.

p.s. never heard of anyone putting the ferts right on the dirt. dosent seem like you would get a good mixture by doing this. my 2 cents.

you really are only goiing to get one shot at flushing.. cause you don't want the flushing to become an "overwatering" issue..

You need to take water..ideally distilled water... a lot of it... like 2 gallons or more... and then pour it over your soil.... all of it.. let it drain out the bottom...

don't have a tray under your plant.. you want the water to drain away as quickly as possible..

Then you can flush again in 3-10 days.. depending on the temperature of your room and the size of your plant...

You can also buy Final flush products to flush..if you're trying to flush either from salt build-up or b4 harvest..or even general purpose for that matter..helps nutrient absorption.

it's probably too late now but it'd be best to remove as much of the ferts as possible before adding more water so it doesn't take it down into and thru the roots.

also when i 'flush', all it means is for the last month only water is used but not more of it...just no ferts. they only get fertilized twice during each stage anyways...iow, twice during veg and twice during flower. this is for my typical 4-5 month indoor grow. a couple more applications for the outdoor garden...

Is that foil lining your grow area? If it is I would switch to flat white paint. You might have some burning issues even more if your humidity gets too high with hot spot problems.
