either 18hours of light and 6dark or 24hours of light... Pick ur choice, both are fine.... its the same as the VEG light cycle......good luck:thumbsup:

Lady HI!

What kind of light are you using?
Light should remain on for a minimum of 18 hours

That works but if you are using some fluorescents or CFL then there is no harm in leaving the light on 24/7 for this cycle

But that's just how I do it.

With the logic being when the seeds pop out of the ground I want it to have light not dark to start with.

I agree zandor. Plus, you want to keep the seed warm during this stage, so 24/0 is good. Once she's poppped up through the soil, then I'd cut it back to 18/6. But leaving it on 24/0 is also common.

im at the same stage as LadySkunk69,
but i havent got the special lights, is it ok to just put a normal 40watt or more light globe over it??? or do u need fluorescent lights for it to work?

cant you just put your plants in the sun to grow right? or have them in a sunny spot in your room?
its pretty sunny where i live but its getting cold in the evenings and mornings. but pretty humid during the day? what should i do?

No, you can't use normal incandescents to grow anything substantial. Same with a sunny spot in your room... there's just not enough light. The plant will grow tall, spindly, and unhealthy. You need fluorescents, or HID.

walmart has the 65 watt fluorex on sale for $12. Heck the price of a new bulb for one of those lights is $10. Or get some 4" shop lights for $20, plus a couple of bulbs for it. Fluoros are the cheapest to run and easiest to maintain, since they doin't get hot like the hps lights.

Yes, you can use the sun to grow your plants. You will also need to supplement with artificial light to expand the daylight hours and get enough lumens to the plant. I put my soil grows outside during the day. But I only have 4 plants right now. I also use 24/0 lights for veg cycle.
