Thanks to all who gave advice on my set-up. So here is the closet, cleaned out, disinfected and painted flat white. I ended up acquiring some clones to start my project (Train Wreck, Blue Dot and Ai Goo-sp?) . I am keeping the bubble gum seeds I purchased for future use. I have a 400 watt MH lamp suspended over them. I transplanted them today after checking on how hot the closet was going to run with the MH on all day. It looks like with the door shut and light on, the closet temp hovers right at 80. With the door craked it's about 77 based on my digital read thermometer. I don't have my fan yet but it's coming in a couple of days to help stir the air a bit. I'm keeping the ballast outside the closet at all times by running the cord under the closet door. If it was in there I don't think I would be able to keep the temp. at or below 80. I also have a 400 watt HPS conversion bulb for when the time comes. I'm planning on wallpapering the inside of the closet with mylar and will be hangning some panda cloth on the inside of the closet doors so when they're shut, it will further light proof the cracks and help with light reflection. I'm a bit concerned that the panda cloth will make the space run hotter but I haven't been able to think of a better way to light proof it. Anyhow, here are some pics. Any feedback is highly welcomed! Thanks!!!:)

Looks good. :)
Your carpet... can you put a wood plank over it? It's bound to get wet and full of soil... and leaves... and trichomes...
So far, so good. The fan you have coming, what is it? Ventilation is important... and FRESH AIR is also important. Not "fresh air" from the room... fresh air from OUTSIDE the house.
Best,

I don't know how to address. Above the closet is an attic so I know I can install an exhaust fan to the attic but I'm lost on how I might be able to vent fresh air in to the space. The nearest window is about 10 feet away and is being left open to aid in ventillation. As far as the carpet goes, I'm planning to lay panda cloth down in order to protect it and aid in light reflection. Thanks for your thoughts on this!

Hmmm.... fresh air is a must... your plants will grow without it... but, not as fast as possible.

Would that do me any good?

Yes...
That I was gonna say... if you can get CO2 in your setup, fresh air isn't that crucial, as you're replacing the CO2 yourself.

Fresh air doesnâ??t have to be outside air, it can be air from another room or air that is from the room where the closet is. It is just so you can get air movement through the closet. good luck

If you're not runnig CO2, and you're not providing your plants with FRESH AIR from OUTSIDE your home, your plants' growth will be stunned.
Get Zandor's input on this. Get Garden Knowm's input on this. Get LateWood's input.
Do as you want dude...

I was going to post, but:::

No dude, that isn't true. If it where only so "I can get air movement", I would install a couple of of fans inside and forget about all my ducts.
The plants take Oxygen, convert it into whatever they want (I hear it's Tootsie Rolls) and then expel CO2... (got this right gK?).
What would happen if you seal a plant inside a cabinet without air EXCHANGE? Pretty soon, the plant will be SUFFOCATING in Oxygen. No CO2 to grow, produce the Rolls...
Get my idea?
Peace, love, and fresh air MrTbone,

There is plenty of CO2 in the air from other parts of the house. I would actually prefer using air from inside the house for temperature control. In the summer, when its 100 degrees F outside, how are you going to keep the grow room cool?

There is plenty of CO2 in the air from other parts of the house.
If you hadn't used the word "plenty", then this would be fine.
But there is NOT "plenty" of CO2 in the air around the house...
If you're growing, and it's 100F outside, you need an a/c unit dude.
Coldpressed, I'm speaking from MY experience. My plants grew very slow, until Rasta Kaze asked if I had a duct going to a window... to get fresh air. As soon as I installed that fresh air duct, the plants jumped.
In reality, use whomever's advice you like more dude...
Peace and love,

the room has air conditioning so keeping it cool in Summer will not be a big issue.
With all points duly considered, I think I'll stick to the small oscillating fan I have coming, artificially augment the Co2, and vent to the attic. Thanks for the input! :)

Glad we could help. Best of luck to you, friend!
One more thought....
Wouldn't there be MORE CO2 inside your house than outside? Think about it, the air thats inside your house came from outside. But when you sit inside your house breathing, you are increasing the CO2 content.

i never used outside air and i had excellent growth and yeilds(close to a lb from a 400hps). i am sceptical about using outside air. too many variables. if you use air from another room it will always be relatively the same temp, in the 70's usually. but if you live in a climate like mine and use outside air , in the summer you will be sucking 100+ degree air into youi grow on some days and in the winter you could easily freeze you plants when the intake is taking in air that can be below zero. also wouldn't there be a higher co2 content in the house with everyone breathing, pets, etc. outside there is alot more volume of air to disperse this co2. i could be wrong about there being more co2 indoors but it makes sense to me until someone says otherwise with a good explanation. i just noticed the last poster said the same thing so there has to be something to it.
