Hello,
what can explain root rot in a bubbler system? I'm growing 4 plants ( same strain : WWxBB from female seeds ) and 2 are experiencing a low growth rate and the root system seems to have parts that are rotten. They have same amount of bubbles, same nutes, PH, ...
And what to do in that case, to cure them?
Thanks

The only thing you can try is to add some hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to the res and wash off the bad roots with good Ph adjusted water. Try to clean them out the best you can. You have nothing to loose at this point unless you are almost done with flower. A few times I have been lucky and able to wash off the scum and they have recovered.
Good luck

OK for the way to fix the prob, but where does it come from? Can it be due to cold water ?
Thanks Zandor

No not cold water, cold water is better for them. Cold water can hold more oxygen then warmer water.
It's just bacteria most of the time, something brought it in is all. That's why I tell people to mesure the run-off water for signs of problems before they show up in plants. The smell test is the next good one but by then you already have a problem.
Good luck with that.
