How effective is music during the growth stage? I'd love to see a study or something...btw, I've been keeping mine on a steady dose of allman brothers during the morning, whatever during midday, and then some ben harper before they are tucked in...
What does the music actually do? I heard it opens up the stomata or something, and that higher frequencies are typically better... my speaker is about 20 feet from the actual plants though, will it still be effective? (i play it loud enough so i can hear it well when i am watering and monitoring and such)
is marijuana like those little flowers that dance when placed next to music? (...those little dancin' flowers may be a good way to monitor the intensity of the music...)

bump...what do you play to your girls? How about Marvin Gaye "let's get it on" right before harvest? I like punk music when I'm giving them a cut, something about punk music reminds me of trimming bush.

So, how does the sonic bloom work? Is it spectacular or should i stick with classical and some random techno with some high hats and loud noises? techno....
Has anyone had great results that they compared to a grow without music stimulation? Btw, Bob marley makes my plants feel at home.

i dont think the plant will grow depending on the song u play.. it depends on the hz..

Well, I guess it works... or not... ???
I haven't followed Sonic Blooms directions... so I can't really argue for/against them. I think it's a great product.
What I've done, is play the music 24/7. I haven't done the foliar feeding thing... although I will for my grow.
I think high pitched music will be best... see below...

From what I've read, yes... higher frequencies will promote the "stomata" [?] under the leaves to open up... thus, enabling better/faster processes... and if you foliar feed, it's easier for the plant to intake the feed... at least, that's the idea.

yeah man, im just joking around...but it sounds like music aids in growth and the high frequencies are good, is there any way to test the freq pretty easy?...i just turn up the treble and let it go.

All i know so far on this subject is that plants grow Toward the speakers if you play classical music and they grow Away from the speakers if you play Led Zepplin. Seriously it was a real study. They have good musical taste

This website seemed to back up my previous post.. plus it says there is a device you can attach to your plant and see if it likes the music
...now a Japanese company has created a gadget that puts you in touch with the 'feelings' of plants.
This gadget gauges the electrical activity in plants and can register a plant's response when exposed to music. The device is called the Plantone and has two sensor clips that are attached to the leaves of the plant.
..When the device's lamp turns red, it means a strong electrical current has passed within the plant's cells. It signifies a positive response. A green light on the other hand occurs when the cell electrical signals are weak, signifying a negative or unhappy response.

Alright I love this thread. Plants make vitamins and biochemicals according to genetics via frequency. Nanometers and Hertz are both frequencies. Say the rainbow begins at 375Nm and ends at 750Nm. 375 Nm = 750 Hz and 375 Hz = 750 Nm. If you can measure and reverse frequency you theoretically should be able to grow with frequency of sound if balanced. I have this cool chart on my crashed desk top that shows what Nm different vitamins are made at. I would say since plants need 5.3% red light 36.3% blue and 58.3% yellow light (which is like 591Nm) I would say average it out and try to make that frequency with a program. I have alot of stuff on frequency on my desk top but I deleted some of windows trying to free up space and she dont load up no more. That and I put a password on the bios and who knows what I was thinking of at the time. I can do it again but not right now. It a fun little project though. I say its possible. At the most basic form I say that any vibrations in the air would excite the electrons like silver does and speed up transperation hence opening the stoma kind of. I leave the music on 24/7 myself. My dog accually howels with the rythum of some songs he has heard alot. Not howel but howel with the beat. Its amazing. Well it was before he was stolen along with in contents of my grow room in the last state I was in. If any one sees a rotwieller who sings to floyd let me know. Happened in upstate VT. Great people corrupt polictions. They are greedy rats. Any way sorry bout the neg. energy.

If growing in a apartment complex , you need a light background music to cover up the humms, and weeers of equipment.
If you have a Co2 meter running in your room with a data logger, look at the ppm jump when you go in the room. This is probly the most decerning thing. Free Co2.
One more thing when the cops or when someone comes over you can say the gal in the room is asleep and do not bug her.
If you like to sing to your plant do so as you expell co2 and it will make the plants happy.
To get twice the effect have sex in the grow room, you get happy and your, plants are twice as happy.
Playing loud music , place a sign on the door POT GROWING HERE. This save the cops time and lets your exfriends know you grow pot.
(95% if pot bust are from friends)
FEEL THE VIBS , note pot does not have ears.
