Hey, so these pistils are turning brown already, but its only 20 days into flower! The other plant has some brown pistils, but not as many.
Does anyone who grows white widow know if this is common, or is this plant ill? It just seems early to have so many brown pistils. Im using miracle grow soil which sucks i know.
Input much appreciated!
Hello smoknjoe :) That does seem unusual, I have had a few pitsils turn brown premeturely before but not as early as twenty days. However the plants went on to grow fine and without problems.
I'm only guessing here love, but I think they will be ok. They have a lot more growing to do yet and the buds will keep on multiplying.
I'm honestly not sure what causes it so I'll be intrested to see what the other guys post.
love mand xxx:)

its the miricle grow , i dont know if you have been giving it nutes your self but with the rusty buds ,i take it you have ,the thing is that miricle grow soil has miricle grow nutes already in it and they are realesed slowly and with you feeding as well the plant doesnt like it as they say miricle grow makes your buds look like shit and taste like shit , sorry try flushing the soil

I have the same problem man, im 21 or 22 days into flowering and my buds already have 50% brown hairs. I think this is due to my spider mite infestation, does anyone know if mites will do that?

YES neem oil before it's too late. or fill the room with CO2.

Fill the room with co2? What during light period just turn off the exaust and open up a Co2 Canister?

I've noticed that if they have been exposed to pollen or excessive heat they tend to brown early. This could also be caused by an excess in nutrient or fertilizer. But as some get old and turn orange then brown, other new white ones appear. Not sure exactly on the lifespan of pistils but itâ??s probably only a few weeks.

Hairs also turn brown from spraying with pesticide or even just water sometimes. Do you mist your plants?

nah, i dont mist them anymore now that its flowering.... tryin to keep humidity down. I'm pretty sure its a pH or nutrient problem since I'm using miracle grow soil....oh well, live and learn. Thanks for the input though.

I keep reading these...has any one determined that the buds are not turning brown due to overfert'? Just asking

Latewood...
I can't be 100% sure, but I think my browning pistils are from overfert. Im (regretably) using MG soil and I (regretably) added ferts to it, so its very likely...

Could be from either, the neem oil or over-fert since the soil contains nutes and your also adding them. I still would go with the neem oil if your leaves are not showing signs of over-fert though.

the reason I asked was because in all my pictures of spider mites...knock on wood...they develop that webby looking shit....I've found that crap in reefer many times and wondered WTF?..Now I know...Great pix of the dreaded beasts in Jorge's, The Indoor Bible...
