Browing Pistils.....already?!
Hey, so these pistils are turning brown already, but its only 20 days into flower! The other plant has some brown pistils, but not as many.
Does anyone who grows white widow know if this is common, or is this plant ill? It just seems early to have so many brown pistils. Im using miracle grow soil which sucks i know.
Input much appreciated!smoknjoe Reviewed by smoknjoe on . Browing Pistils.....already?! Hey, so these pistils are turning brown already, but its only 20 days into flower! Browing Pistils.....already?!
Hello smoknjoe
That does seem unusual, I have had a few pitsils turn brown premeturely before but not as early as twenty days. However the plants went on to grow fine and without problems.
I'm only guessing here love, but I think they will be ok. They have a lot more growing to do yet and the buds will keep on multiplying.
I'm honestly not sure what causes it so I'll be intrested to see what the other guys post.
love mand xxx

I have the same problem man, im 21 or 22 days into flowering and my buds already have 50% brown hairs. I think this is due to my spider mite infestation, does anyone know if mites will do that?

I've noticed that if they have been exposed to pollen or excessive heat they tend to brown early. This could also be caused by an excess in nutrient or fertilizer. But as some get old and turn orange then brown, other new white ones appear. Not sure exactly on the lifespan of pistils but itâ??s probably only a few weeks.

Hairs also turn brown from spraying with pesticide or even just water sometimes. Do you mist your plants?

nah, i dont mist them anymore now that its flowering.... tryin to keep humidity down. I'm pretty sure its a pH or nutrient problem since I'm using miracle grow soil....oh well, live and learn. Thanks for the input though.
