This is deadicated to Kurt..
"I was in a band goin nowhere fast
we handed out our demo but everbody past
one day we decided to take the plunge
move out to Seattle and play some grunge
Washington State that is
Space Neddle....Eddie Vedder....Kurt Cobain

Now to fit in fast we wear flannel shirts
we turn up our amps until it hurts
we've got bad attitudes and whats more
when we play we stare straight down at the floor
wowie
pretty scarey
how pensive
how totally alternative

Now to fit in on the Seattle scene
you've got to do something they aint never seen
so thinking up a gimmick one day
we decided to be the only band that wouldnt play a note
under any circumstance
silence
music's original alternative
roots grunge

Well we spread the word through the underground
that we were the hottest new thing in town
the record guy came out to see us one day
and just like always we didnt play
it knocked him out
he said he loved our work
he said he loved our work but he wasnt sure he could sell a record with nothing on it
I said, tell him we're from Seattle
he advanced us two and a half million dollars

Well they made us do a video but that wasnt tough
'cuz we just filmed ourselves smashing stuff
it was kinda weird 'cuz there was no music
but M-TV said they'd love to use it

The kids went wild, the kids went nuts
Rolling Stone gave us a five star review said we played with guts
we're scorin' chicks and takin' drugs
then we got asked to play M-TV unplugged
you should of seen it
we went right out there and refused to do the acoustical versions of the
electrical songs we had refused to record in the first place
then we smashed our shit

Well we blew'em away at the grammy show
by refusing to play and refusing to go
and just when we thought things would last forever
along came this band that wasnt even together
now thats alternative
now thats alternative to alternative
i feel stupid
and contagious

Well our band got dropped and that aint funny
'cuz we're all hooked on drugs, but we're out of money
so the other day i called up the band
i said...boys i've taken all i can
shave off your goatees
pack the van
we're going back to San Francisco

I knew him and hung out with him a couple of times at The Off Ramp~an old Seattle Bar~

I remember when the radio station announced before the cops even knew that a body have been found at his home.I rememeber people chanting,"Courtney,Courtney"They wanted it to be her body...

you made it look so easy , Kurt. It must of been hard having people hang on to every word you ever said, and wanting to get so close to you so they could hear what you would say next.
We're born too late
We die too soon
Anxiety is a terrible crime
If ya cant come down
Dont come at all

You were just tryin to make a livin
in your own backyard
Then an ill wind came
and blew your picture
right out of the picture frame :(

R.I.P Kurt. Hope they have some good weed up in heaven bro ;)
I wish I was born sooner so I could have seen Nirvana live.. but nevermind.

This could do with a new thread but sometimes I feel as if I should have been born way before I was, I'd love to have been around to see all the bands that are now gone. Nowadays all music is just synthesized and modified too easily, we used to have real music and I wish I could have been around to witness the era.

I like nirvana but certain things about them bug me, like how every jackass that picks up a guitar learns nirvana songs, then everyone thinks they are sooo awesome...

and how all the nirvana fanboys think kurt didnt really kill himself, or some shit similar to that... face the facts loser elvis is dead and so is cobain

other than that nirvana is cool

one of the reasons i dont think being able to play the guitar is cool.... its so cliche, and half the kids obsessed with guitar suck balls.... being able to stomp ass on a set of bagpipes, a rare talent among teens indeed!

Well I meant being born in the '70s or something, maybe '60s 'cause life seemed sweet back then, too much murder and stuff nowadays and technology annoys me when it doesn't do exactly what I want it to. If we'd never known about it we'd have coped and not been so dependant on it as we are now.

you come into a thread that is celebrating the life of someone who is dead and point out there flaws...dont start shit where shit needn't be started

PS he was the guitarist because they couldnt find one at the time, he originally was going to play drums

I don't know what to think of that.I thought it was pretty good for the fact I can't fucking stand Nirvana and I think Kurt Cobaine is probably one of the biggest dead hypocrits to ever walk the earth.

Even if he mattered, why celebrate his birthday? He seems like the kind of person who would hear someone say "One year older" and say that he's only one day older from yesterday, and make it a "no big deal" day..

Because its nice to remember people, were all just another pile of advanced bacteria on this earth, no one pile of bacteria any better than any other accept some of them can play and sing music that is really good and influential and i like those piles of bacteria, so i make threads about there birthdays because i want to.

thats why....

Anyone think that maybe he didnt commit suicide? I myself have no idea but some things make it quite possible

-Kurt was killed with a shot gun and it is very hard to put a shot gun at your head and pull the trigger as they are long, some say he could have pulled the trigger with his foot but he was found with both shoes on.

-Secondly a hit man admitted to courtney love asking him to kill kurt for a shit load of money before but he turned it down, also he had been talking about leaving courtney for awhile before his death

-Also there are a lot of parts in his supposed suicide not that suggest it was a note of him leaving the music business, or leaving courtney. Some of the handwriting matches up with courtneys of the back of one of her CDs

there are lots of other things that suggest courtney is to blame, Wikipedia has some good info on it and a simple search of something like "Kurt Cobain Suicide" will bring up lots of interesting reading material

I dont no how Kurt died, I wasnt there, all i know is kurt was a little off and kinda simple but the man did make some good music along the way, and accomplished many things.

PS Courtney is one dumb bitch who just used Kurt to get famous

I think it's a shame he's dead because (assuming it was suicide) it was in vein. I think he wanted to be a martyr to get people to stop idolizing cellebreties, but it only made it worse.

I think he did it cause he was depressed and did alot of drugs....
His fanbase probably quadrupled since his suicide, im willing to bet half these 10 year old nirvana lovers wouldent even know who he was if it wasnt for his untimely death.

Hes admitted that in most interviews he lied his ass off
but in this one i saw he was all fucked up and sitting on the floor talking about life and about growing up in Aberdeen and you could tell he was a tortured soul
