If they're sprouting through the soil period, I'd let some light on them.

If this is what I think it is, it happened to me and I just let the remaining seed container stay on the plant for a few days, and when it didn't fall off I pulled it off very gently myself.

Seriously though, try and get some pics if you can, or some of the pros on this board won't even bother responding.

It's hard to diagnose the problem without knowing what the problem is!

Hello cptweedmanguy :) You'll have to exscuse me only I'm just trying to visualise what you mean ................. has the seeling sprouted out of the soil and the seed is casing still attached to the head ?
If this is the case love don't worry it will fall off when ready ;)

Although I sometimes do what Grim said and very gently pull them off myself if I think they are taking too long to fall off by themselves ................ I know you're not supposed to but I like to give them a little hand sometimes :o

love mand xxx:)

Oh and when they are like that I let them have some light ;)
