Who ever said High school will be the best years of your life they deserve torture! Im in the tenth grade right now and school is a bitch. Im taking 6 classes in which have no influence on my fellow students and I. No impact of knoledge at all. So i've taken back the habbit of skipping classes, which i only used to do for fun but now its diffrent. I do it to get away.
I find it hard to sit and have to listen to my teachers 5 times a week when i could be learning something useful. Now i would understand if i had the desire to become a pharmacist, in which i would stay in chemisty class, but i dont, so why should i take it? Basic learning they told me! Okay, so i took the class, i've seen the basics, i've come to the conclusion that this isent my path. Still, I must pass the class, study this subject(s) which i despise, in order to graduate and get a well paying job.
I've thought about the possiblitys that i have. Other options so i dont have to endure this pain int he ass called school. Theres always night school but i have special needs in learning and i dont think i'll be able to keep up. If anyone can give me any reasuring news that helped you or is helping you please oh please write bac. If you do i shall love you forever. Thanks!

I totally know what you mean. I'm in high school, too, and yeah, it totally sucks. But eventually you'll have to get a job, and that'll suck too. I'd say just tough it out and try to get into the classes that you like and just try to get by in the classes that you dont. Don't drop out of high school, economically, it's not a good decision.
Alot of the learning that we're doing in high school is learning how to learn. Like learning imaginary numbers in math. I mean, you'll probably never use that unless you're a physicist, but it teaches you skills that when you need to learn something for college or for a job, then you know the process.
I know it sounds like I'm just spouting BS, and school totally isn't for everyone. But, just do the best you can, and try not to cut too many classes...it catches up with you later.

Well...my mum doesent want me to go to school anymore. Mostly because the envirenment. Because its really not one for learning. Too many walls in my opinion. *shrugs*
So its not really up to me even if i wanted to stay in school, although who can tell. Im still trying to be patient, wait it out, see what comes.
Awill, about skipping, ur so right! Although it dident really hurt when it bit me in the ass. Got 1 day OSS. I explained exactly why i haddent been in school and my parents understand. I still have no regrets to what i did, and i'll probibly do it again.
i started college and totally took the wrong classes...i know the system here is different, but I dropped out, took 2 years out, got a job for the first then went traveling for the second....
....when i finished school i had NO idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.....so i thought instead of going down the wrong path and only noticing wasted years later id do somthing I always wanted to do and travel.
So i started reading books while I was away.....got REALLY REALLY stoned for 3 months and decided i knew what I wanted to do.....
So i came back and applied for college got in and 3 years later im still really enjoying it...
I kinda agree that school is not for everyone....but if you put your mind to it you can get through it....If you find a job that you would like to go into and you enjoy it, then it isnt really like work at all....well it is work but its the type of work where you wake up and look forward to going to......you know?
although I was also told that going back to studying would be extremely hard and unlikly cause once you are earning a significant amount of money you wont want to stop getting paid.....however I really enjoy extending my knowledge as much as I can......and also learning
sorry if that doesnt make sense.....lol....:)
All the best in whatever you do dude :)

Sounds like someone is not being properly challenged and getting bored. Or possibly worried about being gang raped under the stairs. Consider a parochial school or possibly homeschooling. Most parochial schools will give you a break on tuition if you can't afford it...especially the catholic ones. Do whatever you must to get your Hs diploma, then go find yourself.
No offense hon, but if your mom doesn't want you to go to HS she needs a swift kick in the ass. Or is it just the one you are currently going to?

OK, I am a tutor, so I'm biased- but stay in school, anyway! You hate chemistry? Do you want to grow hydroponically some day? That's chemistry! Math is a real drag, but you will use some of it, at least, in everyday life. It also teaches your mind to be able to solve problems. You also will need to know metrics (I learned mine by how many ounces in a kilo and how many grams in an ounce- dope was a great motivator). Biology- understanding how a plant or an animal (like humans) works is good to know. My dear, high school IS a bitch,( but college is a whole 'nother story! )Yet in the long run, it is better to put up with all the BS and seemingly pointless classes. The real world is tough and unless you have at least a high school diploma, you life will be tougher than it needs to be. I went to a continuation school and it was the best thing that happened to me when I was a rather troubled teen. The teachers there actually cared! Please don't give up on your education just because you have some "less than excellent" teachers. Look into the night school, see if your school has a tutoring program and join a study group. By the way, I'm old enough to be your Grandma and I smoke every day! Second time around in college (good connections there), I wrote almost every paper stoned and graduated with honors! LOL

you could consider homeschooling.
I've noticed that it all depends on the teacher. I have a great teacher in math which is my least favourite subject and i dont mind it now. But i have a bitchy strict teacher in English which is one of my better subjects and it completely takes away my motivation to do work. See if you can transfer to a different teacher.

I hated High School just as much you and when I got to college I realized that I missed HS a lot and that it was so easy. Try to enjoy your days of no responsibility.

I think you would enjoy the short film I'm in the process of editing right now.Heres the monolouge:
Ohhh, High School. A place where a variety of teenagers can get togeather and learn in harmony regardless of there race, gender, or dress preference. High school also is the very place where students have the oppurtunity to expand there horizons with the nectar of education.
Heh...you'd have to be a moron to believe that. I think what I really meant was, High School is a place where social status reigns supreme, and if your not up to date with there shitty, unapt noise they actually call music....well then your just a waste of life.
You know what they say,"High School is suppose to be the best years of your lives!" Well alot of times in life arrogance often breeds hate, so believe me when I say this: Arrogance is practically the cornerstone of high school.Therefor, Who's complaining? No one.Sort of.
Alright, Why don't we move on to a necessity of high school! Love.Actually I'm using the word quite loosley here. When I walk through the halls of my school I smell two things, and besides the smell of horrendous cafeteria food, as well as the pre-existing stench of overly priced fragrances, that only leaves two other things..The smell of loovvee, and the smell of prepubescent high school relationships which are only products of extreme boredom. Not to mention there 2 week life spans.I mean where does someone get off prolonging there love to an individual who has just as much time to live as they do? Pretty infantile move if you ask me.Good thing no one did though. Its ok I'm sure the relationships are ripe with love and not adolescent disputes over who got wasted and kissed who.I'm sorry but if thats all I had to argue about with someone I was suppose to love I think I would kill myself.
In high school theres plenty of people with there own problems, but how does one conduct oneself to such harsh realities of the real world? I think everyone knows the answer to that. They wait until the next day, so when they finally see there friends they can reminisce on the past night's events. But loud enough so everyone in the whole entire school can hear how hard they actually have it.Sorry I think I forgot to care.Oh, did you have to work late? Did you have to cook your own dinner? Thats funny because I didn't.In fact I got to drive to school in a car I don't even pay insurance or gas for, not to mention the clothes on my back my parents went out of the way to pay an excessive amount of money for.Wait...that sounds alot like the things my peers possess but still find time to bitch about other, petty, CRAP.
So all in all everyone of us can agree high school is one hell of a plac.As a result you have received my perception of high school.Although I despise it I'm still advised to go..just like you.As a result you have just received my preception of high school.Eat it, its good.

Play by the rules of the system. I know it sucks, but you're a part of this system and if you don't play by the rules, at least for now while your still a minor and stuck at home, you'll get fucked. STAY IN SCHOOL! One way to get through a tough day of school is to smoke. Some good bud will make any crappy day of school bearable.
Good Luck!

Highschool was easy. If you're havin trouble in your highschool classes and you're actually trying I would forget about a University. You're gonna have to do shit you don't want to sometimes in life, just stick with it.

All right kids....lemme tell you bout my high school and after story (and trust me, it'll help ya).
I went to a private school that cost more than most colleges to attend. It wasnt my first choice but i did it to play football.
Ha... well anyway Im really smart but like ya'll i skipped LOTS of classes. It wasnt that i just hated them, i just didnt see the point in going. I can pass almost any test with a few minutes of preparation. I made a 29 on the ACT, but graduated high school with get this, a 2.0. Thats a C average. Not great.
I endured 4 yrs of hell at this place, I didnt like any of these assholes. I was fairly good at football, but mainly cause i lived in the weight room.
I NEVER went out with people from school to party or just go get into trouble. I was just a smart ass to the pricks that thought i shouldnt fit in with their cliques that they had been parts of for years. I mean it was a small town private school, i can understand that they grew up together, but i really didnt care.
Well, after many fights, many black eyes, some given and some taken, I graduated. And people who tell you that violence solves NOTHING are STUPID. Those people have never had to deal with shit day in and day out, then one day decided to end it, beat the shit out of the hell giver, and never had to listen to shit from that person again.
God college was great. I lived on campus so I NEVER went to class, I partied every night, played poker all the time and just basically stayed plastered. I missed most every major assignment, and flunked 3 out of like 12 classes my first year. I ended up with a 1.0 gpa. After that first year i dropped out.
Then I moved totally out of my parents house. I got an apartment and went to work offshore on a drilling rig.
Now THATS a hellhole. I should prolly mention that I had a VERY minor accident in my car and lied to my Dad about it and he basically didnt talk to me for a year. Well anyway after 6 months of being talked down to by DUMBASS people, i got sick of working my ass off and being treated like shit everyday by people who probably didnt finish middle school.
I quit after Katrina (I live close to the Miss coast) and will never go back. The things that got said to me out there made high school look like fun. I have never wanted to go back to high school but if i could i would change a few things. I am still not in college but im registering for this summer's classes and plan on actually doing what im supposed to. When people tell you that "working life" is hard, please take their word for it and dont try it yourself. I did and it SUCKS.
And just to let Lily420 know, most of the people who give you a hard time either are nothing, will be nothing, or have no plans to be anything. I saw this first hand when all the people who had such big and bold plans are now cutting hair and roofing houses. Nothing against such people, but dont talk shit about how awesome you're gonna be if you cant follow through.
As far as skipping all your classes, dont...please just graduate....you'll NEVER regret doing that. I know that the classes are stupid many times but MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of other kids have endured it and im most positive that you can as well. Just get out of that hellhole you're in and get to college. You'll find that there are so many more fun and accepting people there.
Well im bout to go so i hope this helped.... Let me know if i can help anymore. but till then peace out...smoke it up and buy a vaporizer....lol....

you really, really need to graduate highschool at least if you have any plans for a half decent future. i'm sort of generalizing here, but fact remains that people who don't graduate highschool end up heading down the wrong path if you will..
I agree with the poster above, you'll never, ever regret graduating highschool. Endure the shit for two more years, and then take a year or two off and work if you want, or do whatever. When you are ready, head into a "real" job or land yourself into a community college or something.

i take it you arnt popular or have very many friends here is some advice
make some friends
stop whining about how shitty school is and make it fun
stop being so jaded
stop whining
school is easy
school is not as bad as you make it out
millions of kids go to school and get through, unless you are as smart as my dog you should be able to make it
dont drop out, employers have 0 respect for a dropout with a GED, sure some places will hire you but less chance, plus if you tell people you have a GED instead of a diploma they automatically assume you are a dumbass loser (no offense to anyone with a ged here.)
Finish school and go to college, college is actually fun the classes are interesting and the girls are hotter
i can add more if you want

Highschool is the pinnacle of failure in the American education system. You are not supposed to learn anything. It is constructed so that the people of lower intelligence can keep up with the watered down material, thus suffocating anyone of moderate intelligence. Your best bet is to go with the flow of the system, but make it interesting for yourself. Opinions are supressed so express them! Critisize everything. Question everything.
Do not participate in any school related programs though, this will only waste your time. Create your own extracurricular activities like reading or poetry or music, something that will possibly give you something useful for your future. Get a job. Not those bullshit fast-food/grocery types. Do something that goes against the grain of your typical highschooler. Work at the library or maybe a nursing home. This will give you a positive environment in the sense that you are around mostly intelligent people, or you are helping persons in need, etc. Save your money, ask youself if you really need that pair of pants, or if you really want or need that CD. Save your money I can not stress this enough.
Don't worry about love or friends, it's like Void mentioned, they are most definitely going to grow stale after you graduate anyway if not years earlier. I have outgrown most of my old friends from middle school and early highschool or they have dropped out and are still at home living on their computers.
Other than that simply concentrate on self-discovery and other interests you may have because there millions of things you could find interest in that will never be acknowledged in school.
Fuck the system.
Nowarchy is the answer.

high school sucks the big one. you really just gotta try to make it out unscathed. sorry to be repetitive but you just gotta finish it. anyways, some of the shit you learn is useful later, mostly writing skills and general knowledge of current events...school expands your vocabulary regardless of the subject matter and makes it easier to impress colleagues later in life. im a senior and i hate getting up for high school more than anyone, but i taste freedom and i know that college is gonna be a much better environment.
plus i don't know how it is in your school, but in mine once you get to be a junior or senior you get more oppertunity to choose your own classes, and you can make your curriculum more applicable to your life.
good luck toughin' it out.
