How long to let a seed germinate

Hey first time grower here. Simple question really just wondering how long I should let my seed germinate. It's been germinating(sp) for 1 day now and I started 2 days ago.

this one is ready for planting, mate, when the taproot is about 0.5cm, it's ready to go.

but, i see in the pic you're holding the bare taproot with your hands. you should use a pair of tweezers to do that, the taproot is the most delicate part of the plant ;) wouldn't wanna get it ruined, ey :)

word, dont let this one die!!

it can take from 12 hrs to a week for a seed to germinate.. 12 of my seeds germinated in a day!!

Ok next question. should I take the hard layer surrounding the seed off?

Just went and got Soil and a Light. :)

plant it quick before it dies. dont worry about the shell. it will pop off on its own when the leaves start to take in water and grow. for future reference it is easier and safer to germinate in the soil.
