Quick question, I have two 42-150 CFL's and I was wondering if there is some kind of freehanging light socket or something that I could buy because right now they are in two like five foot tall lamp stands and I have to lay them off of a futon to get them about two inches over the plant. I just need like a light socket on a cord with no bullsh*t in the way. HELP!

Home Depot sells the sockets you're looking for. Just the socket and the cable.

Thanks turtle.
No problem.
BTW: If you go to Home Depot and don't find "just the socket and cable", get the $6 or $8 fixtures... they've got a clamp at one end, a conic [???] aluminum reflector, and the socket. Get that one and remove the reflector... that's what I did. :)
