waterfalls are a waste of time IMO a parachute/lung does the same job but better.

To make a bowl buy aluminum foil and push it in the hole and use a thumb pin to poke holes.

Aluminum foil has been shown to increase a person's liklihood of getting Alzeimer's. Don't use aluminum foil unless you dislike your brain.

I would go to a restaurant and swipe the metal top off a salt-shaker. It should fit rather well, and you can smoke out of them for a pretty long time before the metal starts to degrade, and if you do need a new one, just go out to eat again.

That's what I did when I made my "jelly-jar bubbler" and it works very well.

1/4 inch socket, go pick one up at your local hardware store it make a perfect seal so the smoke is powerfully dragged into the bottle

Is the metal from a socket wrench safe? I've always wondered this.

Be sure, however, it hasn't been used heavily... My idiot friend tried to make a bong with an oily socket without cleaning it, and had I not told him why I wasn't going to load it he would make msot likely ended up looking like a jackass at least.

My advice? With a few bucks go to a decent hardware store. Browse around and let imagination come to. I have made Piece Pipe III using only what I see in a store, plus a little elbow grease at home. However, if it matters, i'm on PPVII, so that shows there are improvements to be made to some things they have.

For the casual smoker though, it's a wonderland.
