Stealth grow, PC Tower...Help!

Right...Since ive moved into a completly new country im a lil skittish of growing outside or in large copious amounts so im doing something a little differnt.

I need your help in making a PC tower into a grow box. I still have all the components inside still and will be stripping them out shortly here are some rough dimensions to help you out:

14" long
14" high
7" deep

Here are some pics as well! As u probably notice the tower itself is at an angle :confused:

What will i need. Lights? fan etc...thanks! :thumbsup:

i was planning on small anyways entinel...i rarely smoke the ol mighty bud i was just thinking of grow the solitary plant and possibly putty a screen in there to SCROG it "cnt reallly remember the term for that" or evn possible two. bear in mind i dont wnat like huge trees or something i just want them on a small scale to begin with

Build a slightly bigger grow box...thats a bit too small.

yeah get a server tower and you may be able to pull off a clone flowered right away :-)

Maybe you can make it work if you cut out the bottom, and build a 6 or 8 inch base for it.

Just attach it with screws, and make it look like you put your computer there on purpose.???

maybe one of those lights of america cfl security lights minus the plastic casing for lighting and the pc tower fan for airflow.

Lowryder mite be best for this kinda grow i think, You think i should SCROG this grow? How will i power the pc fan. Using the transformer that already inside the tower?

yeah you may need to remount the power supply on the outside though. you can also tie down or bend the plants when needed also

Hey thanks harmonicminor. Ive been having a nose around the net for affordable but effective CFLs most the bulbs here range from like $5 and up but so many to choose from im just wondering which ones to get im guessing like 2 13watt CFLs would do plenty in the space given.

Ballasts are also quite cheap as well which is quite good!

there is an outside security light at Home Depot selling for $35. It has a 65 watt cfl bulb running at 6500k spectrum and puts out about 8000 lumens. get that

Get a cheap chest of drawers from Ikea, and grow it in there, or under your frickin sink, why struggle in a PC Tower?

If you flowered the seedling at about 4" and it doubled in height it would be about 8" when done. Add 4" for the tiny pot it will need and your up to 12" then the light on top will take up probably 2" So that's your 14" case and remember youll be doing this all for about one joints worth of weed. To get the seedling to 4" would only take two weeks (aprox) and then another 6 weeks or so of flowering. So youre looking at waiting for 8 weeks for a joint!?

Doesn't seem worth it to me. Take the some advice and scrap the computer case and think of something bigger in your house to make a discreet growbox out of.

Let's try to be more positive about it.
Judging by your impulse to use the PC case, I bet you need to go stealth at all costs.

Other stealth options: Closet. (false wall?)
The two file drawers on some desks.
A big ass stereo speaker.
???

Do you have to use that case no matter what? I'm thinking...

Well i do have som bigg ass 400watt speakers but i kinda use them hehe! i would be more thak happy if i got half n oz maybe even an oz id be over the moon...im just trying to think what i got that i could possibly use?

Back to cfls...Would i need to buy two differnt cfl for veg and flowering or could i do it all under one cfl?

CFL's produce 0.3grams per watt of squared feet when used with proper spacing. I believe the spacing is uhh something like 5,000 lumens per square meter. OK wait...I just confused the shit outta myself. Lemme rephrase.

CFL is 0.3grams per watt compared to 1gram per watt of HPS (for flowering). The difference from CFL and MH for the vegative state is how fast and healthy the plant grows (hence allowing for even more yield.)

Hope this helps.

Basically, in your situation, CFLs are the only option you have (if those even work for it).

Someone said that id prob be luck to get half an oz from that pc case...and i think i found a 45watt cfl light in wal-mart for $25...i was just thinkn id prob be wayyy better off growing in my garden but i dunno

I don't think youll be able to take care of the plants enough in a computer case to have it make up for having to buy your mj.

lol, everyone's right, looks like you've got a micro atx or mid sized tower
i've read somewhere you're gonna need a full sized case (atx)
