force flowering

Is it a good idea to force flower your plants growing outside. Here in the UK the weather rapidly past the 12/12 light/dark cycle-surely you want your plants flowering for as long as possible so that they produce lots of resinous buds.

If they start to flower in September they will only have around a month to flower-surely that is not long enough to produce a good yield of potent bud.

How can you force flower your plants-does simply putting a cardboard box on at 6PM say, and off at 6AM produce the 12/12 cycle required for flowering?

Any ino would be much appreciated.

If your plants are not too big you can use black garbage(rubish) bags to cover them up. :)

What would happen if you force flowered your plants for a week or so to get them started and then stopped the 12/12 cycle, would they continue to flower under natural sun conditions with a current 16/8 (give or take an hour) light cycle, or would they go back into veg? Thanks...!

what strain are you using over there and where in the uk are you?
i've never tried to outdoor grow, but that was for a reason - scotland.

yes, those methods will work well. if you stop they (for the most part) should revert back to veg., but this is a good way to find your males early in the seson.

get the right strain an just let it go but grow from cutting so you no there girls
