does anyone have any techniques for getting to sleep easier?
like breathing techniques or....I dont know.....anything really lol
I smoke before bed everynight and this doesn't help anymore....which i think might be because I have been smoking in the day alot recently, which has built my tolerance up...
if I dont smoke in the day the "bedtime" spliff usually knocks me out for the night....but at the moment i'm finding it very hard to avoid smoking in the day...
Any Ideas anyone?

Forget everything, you need a clear head to fall asleep, but then you have to think about not thinking, and clearing your mind.
The harder you try to fall asleep, the longer it will take to achieve it.
There isn't really anything you can do, other than buying some sleeping pills. :D hope i helped!

that shit about not smoking until you go to bed does help a lot. I've found that if I wait until night fall to smoke I go out real quick. Ive also found that if I smoke at all during the day I have to smoke again in like a couple of hours, cuz once I smoke in tha day time my will power for holding off smoking is shot. But I have no problem if I get in tha habit of waiting til night fall. Plus you get a hell of a lot higher and youre conserving your weed...which always rocks. After tha first day of waiting til night fall to smoke, youll find your will power for the next day is a lot stronger, and its not such a big fight in your brain.."should I? no ill wait...but damnit i wanna get high" just think to yourself if i wait til night fall ill get higher than high....blah blah blah..thats enough I know....peace

Sing "jingle bells"...I don't know, half the time in bed I end up singing that in my head. That or thinking of shit I need to do. Or listening to someone breathe.

Haha! When I was little my mother had to tape quarters to my face to cover my eyes. She said I'd go right to sleep. Now, I stay awake all night and fall asleep in the early evening or so. So I guess I don't have a sleeping problem...just a whack-ass schedule.

Alcohol interferes with your REM periods...so I won't get a good nights sleep....and i dont really want to resort to alcohol to sleep....that would involve me drinking till I pass out everynight...lol....not a good idea...

thats true.....and what I have been doing but now I go round to my mates after college and they smoke alot so there is always a spliff bring passed round....

Maybe I should quit weeed for a little while?...Then I could save some money, lower my tolerance....but I wont slepp very well....ill smoke more ciggies....wont be able to get stoned...

I normally focus on interesting unanswerable questions like "what does a one handed clap sound like", or I feel different parts of my body. It's very difficult to focus hard enough to feel parts of the body on demand. I then focus on feeling my environment around me with out looking at it. I go from the things on the floor with me...then I move on to things on the walls....things in the drawers.....etc... then finally I focus on thinking about breathing in and breathing out, when my mind starts to wonder I just snap back into in...out....once Im in a euphoric state then I slip into bed and go to sleep. It takes a long time to master but when you do, it's well worth it, it's like a high all by it's self.

If you want perscription I used to fuck with Lunesta, a sleeping pill which doesn't make you drowsy and while most pills require 8 hours to sleep, this only needs 5. Never use ambien to sleep though, it's addictive and evil...nice trip tho! ;)

ambien is pretty cool as a hemopathic hallucinagin, and I havn't really had issues so far with it. Everyone's body chemistry is different it's really just a matter of whats good for you.

This is easy.. You need to fool yourself... If you want to goto sleep then try to stay awake, Think about it if you want to stay up you probably fall out.... So try to put yourself in the frame of mind to stay awake...and waula....Your sleeping.
Go to the health food store and get some meletonin. It will only work a few times as ur body will build up a quick tolorance but its better than not sleeping. After a few days just smoke a night bro.

it works. i took two st. john's every day for like a month and a half... my mood never fluctuated because i always had a bit of serotonin. i could always deal with heavy shit and just be like 'fuck...' and then just realize whats going on, realize how to fix it, and get on with shit. i got off of it, realized i didn't even need it, or any real MAOI's for that matter... and got on with my life.

i too have trouble falling asleep - i used to try putting music on low - worked for a little bit - tv on low with the sleep timer on it works sometimes - when i try natural sleep i cant sleep - i think of everything and cant stop - smoking does help - but i dont want it to become a habit

I have a 23 minute mp3 of white noise and a thunderstorm. I burn a couple of tracks of it to a CD and listen to it. It puts me out. If anyone knows a place I can post it for free I'll be glad to.

I have exactly the same problem. My mum says its anxiety.
5 years ago I used to have a cigarette before going to sleep, and it worked for a while. Then I got hooked. Trust me, my pattern is really messed up, sometimes I'm up all night, or all day, sometimes both, completely unable to get to sleep.
For a while having a spliff worked well, but that guy's right. Once I started smoking it during the day as well it wouldn't help me sleep at night. At all.
