Carve a small bowl and lance one end. That easy. I love the apple flavor of the smoke instead of the nasty metal screen/metal pipe taste and stink, blah! I used to do this while hiking in the mountains. When finished just eat around the carved sections and toss the rest, the wild animals love the leftovers, lol. 'O' and if you mountain bike up high and gash a tire on a rock just repair the tube and line the inside of the tire with a pliable piece of green tree bark and (3) dollar bills between the tube and the bark. That will keep the tube from bubbling out. It sure beat spending the night up there alone. :thumbsup:

Apple pipes are a favorite pasttime of mine. Good for when you're underage, and need a piece.

i have a peice but ive always wanted to try it out, is it better to cut the bowl and stem out then leave the apple sitting out for awhile, so that it drys up a bit or should i just park it right after i cut into it so im not smoking apple?

I just took the stem out, and jammed a hole where the stem was. I never let it dry - it works well as is. Every once in awhile I'd go "all out" and toss a screen in there, and use a hollowed pen as a mouthpiece.

i took a bic pen and an apple, ripped the stem off and then disasembled the pen, took the ink thing and poked it down the hole where the stem was, halfway. then i took the hollow tube from the pen and poked it into the side and then pulled it out and pushed the apples chunks out of it, re inserted it and then checked for airtightness. then i loaded a bowl and lit up

that was one of the best homepade PIPES i have ever made, now i just need to make a bong the will accept an apple as the bowl and ill be set :thumbsup:

sorry for the pointless post but im in shock that i have never done this before when no one had a peice at school and i had like atleast 50 bic pens in the bottom of my back pack and an apple in my lunch
