How do you break up Hash?

I got a 20 back FINGER of some hash tonight. It's solid and smelling very good. The guy told me to light it and just scrape it off.

Should it look like shavings? How much would I need. A full bowl?

Hey..just light it a bit (not on fire) so it becomes soft and then peel some away with your finger nail. It's really supposed to be mixed with tobacco to help it burn. But you can smoke it in a bowl if you want, it's gonna be some thick hitting shit though and it doesn't burn like bud. It will burn but you have to keep hitting it.

Roll a joint with some cigarette tobacco. Scrape some off and mix it with the tobacco and smoke on up.

Smoke in a joint. It's the best way to go with hash. Put a whole ciggie in a rizla burn the corner of your hash lightly until soft and lightly smokes, use thumb and four finger to break off and sprinkle on top of ciggie. Use the same as you amount as if you were skinnin up with bud and work out by the taste, high etc whether you need more or less in next time.

stick it in a coffee grinder man. you can burn it a bit to soften but the smoke that comes off it goes to waste. if you just grind it fresh you get more goodness!!

It depends. Great hash you really shouldn't have to burn, but regular hash you just burn a tiny part (if it's cube or rectangular shaped then just one corner) for a second or two, and then using the thumb and index finger of one hand you just kinda break it off and crumble it into your joint or bowl or whatever. You want it to be as much like dust as possible so that when you smoke it more surface area is exposed to the flame.

The only problem is that this wastes sooo much 'cause you're burning it before you even smoke it, so i'd recommend just getting a grinder that can grind hash. Have a look at the grinders at EveryoneDoesIT.com (http://www.everyonedoesit.com). :)

I remember seeing a hash grater in a head shop, it was in a fake rizla packet and you just grated little slivers off. Other option is what my friend does and heat a scissor blade and slice little bits off, hash should either be smoked n a joint or in a bong, where u put a lil bit of tobbacco in first then pack your hash on top :)

when i have solid i used to always burn it in, but then this dude told me to use a cheese grater (smellest holes) and it works fuckin great!
the hash ens up almost like a powder, its perfect for doobys cuz it burns fine and theres no bombers!

HAHA .. Not going to say FU because I know. Just because I didn't know how to handle hash because it's in a different form than a bud and I have never even touched the stuff I guess I've never smoked! =O And I never asked how to use it I just asked the most effective way! =O Another Shocker.

if its soft enough to shape like the bombay black or temple ball
can make it fit the bowl as in pic with great results
and i recommend just taking a hit at a time if alone to not waiste it
dont want ya hash burning when you have a lungfull and coughing it out9 as i seem to do alot when i get some)

if i get the harder type hash i use a blade and scrape it off like dust
roll a small jiont of just it alone,a pinhead burns ok if you toke easy and pay attention to it so it dont run up the side
i mix weed in it if i have it
never do i add tobacco,

Wish I could get hash around here. Nobody can seem to get and I never wanted to make my own because I thought if I didn't do it right I'd just be wasting my weed...and I definetely don't want to do that.

Nowhereman, that looks like a hell of alot of hash for one bowl. Lol, Over here the hash we get is alot more solid - in fact, it is solid, that's why it's called solid - and I guarentee is alot less potent than the stuff you have in that photo, but I don't think anyone would ever put that much into one bowl, and never just in one piece like that.... But I guess different hash calls for different measures, and maybe the photo just makes it look huge, Lol :)
