This is a thread that is intended mostly for beginners.

If you learn something from it, great, feel free to pass it along as if the wisdom came directly from you, 'cause dahhn we all wanna have people think we're like the way kewlest thing this side o KW Jelly.

The history of this grow is back there in the original HST thread.

This grow is not about debating stem cell research or how to braid your armpit hair. Although I'm sure those are apt to be very evocative topics within certain circles of advanced est-ian symanticism.

No. Please keep in mind one thing. I am a beginner and am not recommending that anyone try anything that I am apt to say in this journal.

Zandor, please by all means move this to the Closet Cab Grow forum if you deem fit.

The plan is to repot the clones (whew) within the next few days. Don't know how quick and I'm still not partial to the expenses of hydro at this point so a good vermiculite / perlite / soil recipe would be great. Anybody??

Taken on Day 17 of 12/12.

Temps in grow box holding in mid-70's to low 80's.
Nights are falling to upper 60's.
Relative humidity appears to be increasing with plant vigor.
Was as low as 40 last week. Last couple of days, as high as 56rh.

Plans:

1. Install at least one 2700K 125Watt CFL.

For now, ruling out previously considered 150Watt HPS. Box ventilation will need to be upgraded first.
1b. Option to buy 2nd bulb for $25 will likely spec a dual spectrum CFL.

2. Recycle one triad fixture into individually positionable sockets.

3. Review info on humidity and mold.

4. Continue search for better circulation fans, sized under ave. 6" dia.

Stealth was the hugest challenge on this grow.
Mate has tradition of hosting preteen grandchillen 2 weeks every summer.

Here I am figuring out how my supasofistikated scrubber will turn out when disquised as an an unreachable stack of empty currogated boxes.

For this picture I borrowed a bud from the neighbor to calculate the exact ratio of ambient odor emissions to spent pencil erasers it will take to actually get a shop drawing done.

There is a great carbon air scrubber design that uses a laundry hamper but I didn??t think this years exhaust blower choice would be adequate for that design. You can get the furnace filters at HD in various widths. 20? on one side. From 10 - 20? on the other length. They??re about a half buck a piece. 4 of em gives ya 3 layers. Real delicate material these filters. Will use chicken wire to shore that up on bottom and top before duct taping the hole thing together.

Whole goal here was to keep the overall grow to under the street cost of a decent lid.

It had been estimated that with current lights I could see as much as 2-3 oz??s from this plant. It was later speculated that with better lighting and fertilization I could double that.

This was actually from a short time after I discovered the loose concrete on our basement wall. Eventually found the natural entrance on the side of a drumlin about 60 meters behind the house.

Kinda wish now I hadn't taken the mate and her grandkids down there to explore but with the safety issue and all, well..

Of course one of the things about the cave was it didn't have a separate room for vegging. This 1st pic is just prior to removing debris out of the second tier. Still not sure how the humidity is going to hold in both main chambers. May have to switch things around after production begins in earnest.

Second pics are from before and after shaft from basement was finished.

I never thought my dad would end up actually getting into this grow but ever since I turned the guy on, he'll do next to anything I ask him to. And then some.

When I took this pic he was saying he'd heard something about bat feces being somehow more sanitary than feline feces. I dunno what the fuck he was talkin about. Musta been trippin talkin about usin the shit for tea. Ahhh. He always was a crazy fuck.

If you live a ways in off the main road and are going with HID lighting you may want to consider the advantages of running in a more efficient delivery system for your electricity.

If you do then save yourself a lot of grief and rent the copter model shown in Pic #2.

The one on the left is a lot trickier to handle in a cross breeze if you've never used one before. Guys at the rental place gave me no clue.

With the other unit I was able to lay in 7 towers in about 4 hour.

Flatbedded the chopper back but was generally too wiped to do much else today.

Nothing new, so please hum along as you enjoy this totally trollish waste of bandwidth and jam everyone's proxy servers to your little heart's content.

Sorry if your vid card is old and can't write the encrypted nudes to screen. But trust me. They're there. Where? Right heeerrrre.

LOL!!!

Rezinator, I just read your post for the first time...

I don't know if it's the 84.67% of incoherence in your thread the reason why people haven't posted, or if they're just afraid... But it's pretty cool.

I was going to mention: Instead of improving my electricity delivery system, I opted out for building a small nuclear plant underneath the football field behind the barns... That should work out nicely.

As to the chopper model... I haven't used neither, but why didn't you preffer to dynamite a channel to the nearest power sub-station? The sound and the destruction is a little on the off-side... but other than that, it works out fine.

I have a friend that blasted almost 400 miles to get powerlines to the central power station... his biggest problem? Belive it or not, power looters... people would actually cut-up the power lines' insulation and then solder smaller power feeds... thus, they would steal power away from my friend.

He solved his problem by periodically disconnecting the circuits at his grow room from the lines, and then pumping an insane amount of Amps INTO the lines... but he pumped DC power! All the looters' appliances would fry... wow... you could see the fires for those 400 miles... those where the days

Anyways, your buds look super fine! Why don't you place white cardboard with aluminum foil as a reflector on top of those CFLs? I bet they'll improve marginally the illumination to the plants.

Keep it up! I like this thread!

Schukksnthanks for lookin in turtle.

I do my best to keep the coherance to a minimum so it won??t go over the heads of Beavis my protégé and his buddies.

Wow. Good choice on the power system. Me, I wasn??t able to find a uranium source. Pisses me off I had to settle for something more conventional, but what the hell, for a first grow this should get me by.

Re: Blasting. When we got the property the old towers were gone but the footings were still in decent shape. Plus our house is just over that rise and then back north about a quarter mile. Plus the mate??s daughter is the bigtime freaking tree hugger. Your bud there is very lucky. Me I proudly wear the skirts in my household. Will be posting new fall gingham hemlines soon. Not to be missed.

Seriously have thought about some kinda reflector since everything is at 90deg so far.

Maybe that??s it, just the simple white cardstock folded into a shallow V. Hmmm. That wouldn??t hurt a damn thing! Good one, T.

Maresee boku.

World's First Radical High Stress Training Experiment.

Not sure I'd try this stealth technique again.
Unless I got a better blower and an HPS for this flowering stage.

Still trying to find best deal on a 125 CFL with warm 2700 Kelvins, but not sure how much time left for optimum trichome coloration and harvest.

Gotta talk to latewood or somebody else about a Home Deepo 80 Watt HPS security lamp for $50. Package says closest reflective surfaces on that lamp setup need to be 5' from enclosed bulb. But though I read you can strip away the enclosure+glass away from the Ballast+Bulb assembly.

With cooler October now air I can keep the closed up Cabinet temp at 74 with these Five 42 Watt CFLs (and current cheapo blower). Just need to keep the temp of this basement no higher than 69Faren. Opening windows for a couple hours does it.

latewood (or Z? :( ) if you read this please confirm or guesstimate if an 80 Watt HPS (unenclosed in housing) could be kept cool if I lower ambeint basement temp to say 66Faren, or would I still need a badder ass blower?

Days 24 thru Day 30 growth seemed to slow to a standstill.

Yanked the one last surviving clone about two days ago. Just sat there for days and days of 18/6. When I pulled it (heavy on perlite and vermiculite soil mix) top roots had grown very little and lowest roots were completely gone.

You called it on the money, Zand. ;) Clones were doomed to black thumb syndrome from get-go. Very little to do with luck if we do what you guys tell us. Includin' Garden Knowm too when we can wring the verbiage outta him. Chucklechuckle.

At least I now got all the stuff and won't have to waste time sourcing and getting the bubbler items together.

......................................

[To tell y'all the truth, part o my gripe is that for this growspace I couldn't just go along and start buying all the best stuff in sight unless I knew I could the whole bannnnnng out of all the dough spent. Let's face it. This was as much an experiment on how to just get a couple oz's.]
......................................

Input welcome.

Out fer now.

Hey Rez...Sorry, I never saw this post...I think I was on the road when you started it.
A bare 150-250hps (in winter this would allow you to keep basement cold) would be your best bet in that box for full effect...you might have to
figure out how to vent better...
I'm willing to try and help you out, Now that I saw thread, tell me if I'm on track about your question's...are you in cold climate or warm climate?...later

I never saw this thread either.. did you write it all tonight..?

What's the deal with the souls?

Looks good... Do you have an easy method for lowering or raising the lights?

Can we see another wide shot of the whole system?

attached are some pics of a plant on its 24d ay of 12/12... similiar grow enviroment..

i love you
