if you just lay it in the siol and cover it up the taproot will go down and the stem will go up ,naturally,no big deal it knows what to do.

worse thing you can do is fuck with it and damage any of the root by trying place it perfect ,let nature be your friend

simple way is to place a few seeds in glass of water
spoon them out carefully let them float in some water on the spoon, when they crack open and u see the lil root starting(few days at most)cover them up with soil and in no time you will see a nice lil plant stick its head up
be smart and use a big enough container and NO transplanting

Well im geussing you dont transplant cause its a sensitive plant.
perenials (which is not cannabis a perenial, it dies and is replaced yearly by new seed) just grow and adapt to the environment, then die.
Plus transplanting plants is very tricky, you can damage all the hairs on the roots if the earth clump shifts too much.
