and I remembered the other night when I was over a friends house, and it was her birthday so there was alot of people there and some people were drinking, I mean just chillin on the couch drinkin..not crazy do stupid shit drinking. And after her boyfriend gets there, he starts packing a glass bowl of his, he takes a hit..passes. Tha next guy goes and hits tha bowl and he sucks tha ashes down his throat. He says, " shit dude why dont you have a screen in there??" and Paul says, " wtf? put a screen in a glass bowl, are you fucking stupid??" and tha dude replies," I sucked tha ash down my throat." and Paul says to him." well if you wouldnt suck it like you were tryin to suck a dick you wouldnt have a prob."
Now while this is thouroughly humorous at tha time.. I was wondering what tha hell tha big deal was. I mean I been smokin' for lets see...6 years now.. and Ive never seen anyone throw such a hissy fit about puttin a screen in a glass piece. Im talking about a regular screen.. Not a glass screen. Glass screens are expensive for something thats just a lil glass star that you put in tha bowl.

I have never seen a screen on a glass bowl.. This is pretty funny though.. The proper protocol is this, who ever supplied the weed and the pipe can dictate what the fuck they want.. You never complain when smoking someone elses weed.. Hood rules apply.. With that said, I have thought the same thing.. I was always using a metal pipe and when my friend switched to a glass pipe, I sucked down some ashes too thinking I had to pull hard..but his weed was fire and I learned quickly.. His weed his rules...

Well.. it all depends. Most glass bowls are made so that you don't really have to worry about sucking down an ash or burning ember unless it is still a pretty new pipe. I can't believe he was raising a stink about it.. at least the dude had the common decency to share a smoke with him. Why look a gift horse in the mouth, I'd say.

I remmber once I was smoking a big fatty, and the filter was really loosely coiled, and towards the end of the joint, all the remaining ash and bud went flying into the back of my throat. probably one of worst weed-smoking experiences.

I have a glass chillum and I don't use a screen. There's enough resin in the hole now that you usually don't suck anything extra unless you're sucking really hard. Of every glass piece I've smoked, none of them have had screens.
