I just went out and (Harddons gonna strangle me for this...) took a couple samples to see how she smokes. After they dry and cure a little bit, I will post you all in on how she tastes and how the high is. I only took two buds btw....just enough for a joint or two, so dont kill me, K?-emtpockets:D

Btw, how long do you usually hang-dry, before put in paper bags? I usually wait untill they are a bit crispy, but they always turn out super-dry in the end. I like a little moisture to stay for wheight, how do I do that?

Beauties, EmT! What dry weight are you hoping for?

And how are your temps looking in the long range forecast?

Im hoping for at least half pound.....but Ill get anywhere between half and maybe a full one!!! BUT....and this is a big but, there is a frost coming in supposedly thursday, if that happens shes gettin pulled early, and that would hurt my yeild.:( So send a prayer to the pot gods for me and maybe all will be well!!!-peace-emtpockets:D

She is way far from being ready to harvest.

Do not pull her even if frost if forecast. Frost wont affect the quality of the buzz so let her live thru if if she can.

She is fattening up, but still has a way to go.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. cut bud off plant by the stalk.
2. hang to dry one day.
3. trim off all large leaves and smaller leaves on day two.
4. let hang / air dry another 3 days.
5. Place in paper bag or empty beer boxes for another 5 days, turning buds over frequently.

At this point the buds will be dry, but still contain some moisture that you can now "CURE" out of the buds.

Place in airtight jar....

Every day, open the jar lid and let it 'breath' for about 2 hours...then close the jar again.

This will draw out the deepest moisture and let it 'cure'.

When checking and determining the readiness of the bud, use the stems as a guideline, not the buds themselves. When the stem SNAPS instead of BENDING...then your weed is fully cured.

Hope that helps.

And stop smoking her....

She simply isnt ready yet......soon...but not yet.....

But alas,,,the cycle has begun....has it not :D

Daylight pics for you all!! LOL....I finally got some time during the day to take some pics for yall, so here gos it. They came out beautiful, the buds are so fat and look so good and tasty!! Im getting antsy, and extremely impatient.....Every time I go out to her I think to myself....."Damn, I wonder what you are going to wheigh, and taste like, and how high you are going to ge me"!! It is almost pathetic, you know? anyways, on to the pics.....whatcha think?

Btw, the last pic is of a branch that I broke a while back and just let it hang because I heard that if a branch breaks, the buds get bigger on that branch. I left it and now...BAM...big ass buds all up and down that damn branch!!!! I guess its true.(I would'nt recommend going and breaking branches on purpose,btw.)-peace-emtpockets:D

Harddon i have a question for you,...when in the air tight jar phase of the curing and u open it to draw out the deepest moisture,... can u put a small dry piece of paper towel or tp unscented, in the jar to help absorb moisture??? just curious, got 5 beautiful cinamon skunk strains that by act of god are all female bout 3ft tall and i think im gettin close to harvest, will post pics to show, would really appreciate any info possible, :D

If you wait till the Bud is "popcorn" dry.
then cure it In glass Jars.(in a cool dark place).
you really only need to open the jars once every 2-3 days to release the carbon gasses that build up.
if you do notice moisture in your jars then pull the bud out for an hour or so and put it back in.
4 weeks is my minimun for curing...
see that helped you to Empty.;).

pop corn dry means dry and brittle on the outside.

The stem will still bend, not snap completly.
