I was doing a bit of reading about bulbs and hid/hps/ and all that good stuff! and I was wondering about the 1000wHPS Hortilux bulb,is it great for flowering? does it flower buds even better then normal hps bulb! and the spectrum of blue that it offers! could plants be grown in veg cyclcle with great success........or am I better off buying a hid ballast and bulb/or just go ahead and purchase 1000HPS Hortilux bulb for the entire grow?...........does a Hotilux bulb match that of a metal hid lamp for veg????? any help working out this purchase question would be great! :)

I haven't seen too many grows with enhanced spectrum bulbs, but it deffinitely wont be better than a standard hps for flowering

The HPS hortilux is a fantastic bulb....after much consultation and I didnt believe it either at first but the BEST bulb is now the 1000 watt HORTILUX BLUE MH LIGHT ...Perfect from start to finish but the price tag is over 200 bucks

Zandor did a big deal about this bulb...he uses it all the way through, because of the blue enhancement and claims 2 lbs.per grow under it...pretty good I'd say

Mellow they make 2 Hortilux bulbs. One is an HPS bulb...again this is a great bulb and should do a fantastic job for you. THe other is a MH Blue Hortilux bulb. Just has a much more balanced spectrum so that you get a much higher blue spectrum than with the HPS Hortilux but with all the same reds and oranges in the regular Hortilux. Either is great but if you have a MH light already then Blue Hortilux would be the way to go. But the regular Hortilux is still superior to any other HPS bulb on the market

OK MM, HID is high intensity discharge...weren't sure if you knew or if that was a typo...both MH and HPS are HID lamps...
the hortilux is special, because it produces more lumens than any other bulb on market.

more on this mh bulb can you grow strait through with the enhanced blue bulb for mh?the hortilux blue is an HPS lamp with enhanced blue spetrum to help with veg, It cannot be used for MH...If you want enhanced spectrum MH, you must buy sunmaster or agrosun gold bulb with enhanced red spectrum...about...I think that is what you were asking 70 bucks...I think that is what you were asking, really couldn't tell...
If you were pressed to, you can grow all the way through with either light, your plants will just grow differently...MH are thinner and have long pistil's
