Allright, call me stupid cause I just put 1 seed white rhino, one seed superhaze under some paper towells, and I didn't mark them. Superhaze is spose to be 100% Sativa and I think rhino is a mix. Will I be able to tell? I'm thinking the sativa will out grow it big time. What should I look for? I don't want to flower the satava the same time as the rhino, thats why I'm flippin out.

While I'm postin, how do you transport the seedlings into the dirt once they sprouted in the towells? How big should they get in the towells? Should the top be stickin straight up out of the dirt? I have this plastic container I bought and some dude told me to keep them under there so they get some humidity build up, how long should I keep them in this plastic home? Can I place them under the 400 W. metal H right away. Last question I promise. Can I touch the seedlings to transfer into the dirt? I just got my med license, and I'm super stoked about getting my own personal shit, the only crap I get around here just gives me a worse headache then I already have.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Oh ya, sorry, but I have one last question. I have these little cube thingys called rapid rooter, should I transport the paper towell seedlings into these, and then put them into dirt?

I let my seedlings grow out of the seed before I put them in dirt, (two leaves pop out at the end and it usually breaks away from the seed they are usually an inch long), I then put them in dirt and leave the top just a little above the dirt. This has worked real well for me, just don't touch the roots. You'll wreck em in a hurry. I would assume a MH if little ways away would be alright, I'd recomend a CFL right off the bat till they have a little growth. Open the container that you have the seeds in daily to air it out a bit.

Thanks Jesta, I don't have them in a container, they're over my cable box so they can get a lil heat. What if I put the light over 5 feet away, you think I'll be good?

yeah, you can put the MH 5 feet away... and it actually may be better for your plant in the long run.. but there is always that very serious danger of your baby drying out.. No matter how far that MH is you better keep your baby real wet.. until she sinks her roots deep

good luck

The distance of the light and the frequency of waterings will probly have to be played by ear at first, 5 ft sounds pretty good, but just check how hot the plants are getting and make sure the soil is moist, not soaking wet, not wet, just moist for the first week and then you can go to more of a scheduled feeding method.

I say wrap the paper towel in tinfoil, have it straddle the rim of a glass serial bowl and leave it on top of your water heater or boiler. or anywhere up to 90F degree ambiant. NO Warmer.

Check seeds in 24 hours.

If you see seed is cracked and sprout is peekin out, might as well go right to the peat pots or dixie cups or whatever soil they'll go in. Using a clear plastic dome or Saran Wrap tent, You can use florescents real close to start the seeds.

As maximum sprout length... I try to catch em before they get longer than an inch, 'cause then you can't always drop em into the toothpick holes as easy.

You know the seed's sproutlet is the root and points downward of course. (Just what I know from a couple grows only.)

Its now been 24 hours and no sign, I think they're getting a little bigger. Whats the longest you've seen it take?

Rezinator- you put them in the dirt with the sprout facing down?

4 days was the longest I've seen. And if you plant them when they first start peaking plant them with the seeds pointing up and the tail pointing down.

Hey thanks for the response, but either I'm really high, or I don't understand. Plant with the seeds points up? The sprout? Does the sprout come out the sides (pointy ends?) I don't want my roomate to know about my 2 babies, so I can't put the seeds on top of the water heater, what about in a hot garage w/ no lights?

your seeds will sprout... just don't let the temp drop below 70.. all the suggestions above are good..

key factors

Warm
Dark
Wet

FYI - I always started seeds right in rockwool..... never had a problem

Take clones and you will never have to deal with this again : )

You'll have a whole new set of problems : )

Plant the seeds with the little sprout pointing down. Like the seed is at the top, and the sprout is pointing down into the dirt.

Hello Stupid ................Well you told us too ;)

Hello D :) The pointy end of the sprout is what is going to be the root and the plant above ground is still in it's shell :) So if you plant the seed pointy end down it save's it having to turn it's self around so it can grow.

You probably know all that by now anyway, good luck D :)

Thanks everyone. I have one of 2 sprouted, and the other one looks like it is close. Just hope I have @ least one female!
