Wal Mart should DIE!

Allright, I usually don't start threads and I really don't like to complain or rant, but I can no longer hold this in. So here's the basic story shortened for easy readability:

I went to Wal Mart to use their Moneygram service to transfer money to someone who has been very kind to my wife and myself. It doesn't really matter who, it's not the point of the story. Anyway my first trip into wal mart I tell the nice lady all the info, fork over the money, and she gives me a recipt with some numbers. I e-mail the info to the kind someone I spoke of earlier and am confident that all is good.

Well two days later I check my e-mail and see 3 e-mails from this kind someone saying how he can't get the money... some problem on my end. Each e-mail sounding a little more worried than the other. I e-mail him back, assuring him I will fix it and get back to him. Went back to wal mart for the second time, wait in line for like 20 mins, and the people there were like "Oh yeah, there's some kind of problem but I can't fix it." They talk with each other, get a manager, and tell me to come back and ask for so-n-so the next day.

Next day, trip number 3 to wal mart. I wait in line for like 20 mins get to the front and ask for so-n-so. She shows up and tells me. "Oh, just call this 800 number and they wil fix it." I call the 800 number from the pay phone at wal mart and wait on hold for like 15 mins or so and the dude on the phone says "I can't do anything about it, you have to go back to the place you bought it from and show them ID to have them fix it" I tell the guy I just went inside they told me to call you. he says "Have them call this number, I'll walk them through it." So I go back inside, wait in line, and tell the same lady to call this number. She calls, on hold for like 15-20 mins again, types some stuff on her computer and tells me "All fixed" gives me the same recipt and says it's ready for pick up, same info.

So I e-mail the good news and get a prompt response "Still didn't work... same issue on your end" Now I am feeling like a complete jackass and I go back to wal mart (trip number 4) to straighten things out. A diffrenet lady helps me after about 25 minutes in line and tells me the same story I got on trip number 2. I ask for a manager and he tells me the same story I heard on trip number 3. So I tell the manager my whole story and he just looked anoyed like I was making it up. He tells me he can't do anything about it and I need to talk to so-n-so who will be here on wednesday (a different so-n-so than the first time BTW). I say "No can do, I have to fix this ASAP" and he sugessts I just pick it up myself it its so important. I ask him where and he types in the computer and says Victoria BC, USA. NO SHIT!! I am supposed to pick it up in a city named victoria in a state named british columbia in a country called USA. "Hmm that's wierd" he says "Ya think!" I say "Maybe that's the problem". So he makes a copy of my recipt, says he will give it to so-n-so and I should come back and ask for him tomorrow so we can figure this out.

Now I have to write this kind person I spoke of earlier and tell him I can't fix it until tomorrow making me look like a... what... 3xJackass I guess. I am so unbelievably pissed off and I hate walmart with a passion. FUCK WAL MART! :mad:

Sorry to hear about all the trouble. I honestly can't remember a good experience I've had at a WalMart. Those stores are mainly for poor people anyway.

I don't know if Target has a money transfer service, but the chain itself is still much better in just about every way. If they don't, try Western Union. Yeah, it's more expensive, but it's very reliable. And their staff is usually trained hahaha.

yea walmart sucks ass they just buils two huge wal-mart supercenters in my town and it fucked up alot of the small local buisnesses there used to be alot of small grocery stores and now most of them are closed because of walmart

Wal-Mart will in fact, in the very near future, unleash its evil ulterior motives. The doors will lock shut on innocent buyers and then they will be forced to hard labor in these makeshift 'concentration camps'. Forced to order meals from a 1983 McDonald's menu, this will fatten the prisoners up for heinous 'experiments'. Soon after the skies are darkened with shuttle launched Super-space-Markets, there will be ID chips implanted into our hands.
Those with the ID chips will be allowed a budget of 3 meals a day, compliments of McDonalds... For the ones who do not receive these ID's they will starve. Boycott Wal-Mart now...prevent this nightmare from becoming a reality. :D

I too have run into problems with money wires at Wal-Mart ... keep in mind that stores in the chain vary widely in service levels.

Ie. where I live, the Exeter Wal-Mart is fantastic while the Wyomissing Wal-Mart has long been absolutely terrible - they should fire the entire management staff at the Wyomissing location - on the bright side, they will likely soon close that store anyways when the new Super Wal-Mart opens up about a mile or so away over in Spring Township, but I digress.

Anyways, a better approach in the future is to go to a different Wal-Mart (or other retailer, etc that handles MoneyGrams) - the money wire information is stored in MoneyGram's computer system and is not associated with any particular location (similar for Western Union); one can send/receive from most anywhere that handles MoneyGrams.

For anyone who *doesn't* know what Wal-Mart is, it is a multinational conglomerate chain of superstores ofering everything from food and produce to clothing and hardware. Essentially, the move into neighborhoods offering slightly lower prices for items than their competitors, and conveniently offer them all in one building, and push out smaller businesses. Once they have attained the appropriate customer base (as many people as possible) and have everyone used to going to Wal Mart, they raise their prices higher than their competitors were, and now prey on the consumer who now isn;t used to shopping in several places for several things.

In other words, they are a virus and they are spreading.

Yeah i dont realli like wal-mart either. But i have had many good memorys from wal-mart. When i lived in Alabama (i was 14 and my sister was 16) my sister would wake me up round 3am sumtimes and beg me to go to wal-mart with her and brib me with cough syrup and whip its. We'd pick sum up and trip all night even tho i had school the next day. Also my sister was driving a car but dident realli know how to drive well and oviously dident have her lisence but it was right up our street so that made it even funnier.

Once she got in the car and before i could get in she backe dup and started to drive off, I was running after her flailing my arms in the air LOL then she stoped and yelled at me because i was making a scene and she dident have a lisence. Funny funny memory i'll never forget!!! Wal-mart was my drug supply haha.

^^ Well said indeed. Everything should be fixed now even though they still tried to tell me the same damn "We can't help you here, call this number" story. I wasn't leaving though, I bitched and complained until this teen aged zit faced geeky lookin fuck who wasn't even working the customer service nosed in and said "Here's how you do it" and it was done, in like 5 minutes. Made the red vest manager dike look really stupid because she had just finished telling me "Look, there is nothing that we can do here, you need to call this number and have them fix it". Haha stupid bitch your teenage minimum wage slave labor subordinate just did it for you because your stupid management ass couldn't figure it out!.... that's what I wanted to say but instead I just said thankyou to the geeky kid and gave the manager dike a dirtly look on my way out.

kablam, I feel your pain. Much as I hate Wal-Mart, I do go there from time to time to pay my student loan or car payment via Moneygram (like if it's due that day & I just realize it... like I just realized with my student loan payment. fuck!).

So anyway... I went in to pay my student loan awhile back. The girl kept saying it wouldn't go through, because I had the wrong account number. I was like, um, it's referenced by my social security number, which I'm pretty sure has not changed after 28 years. Trust me, it's correct. We went back & forth like 5 times... me remaining calm, just getting a little perplexed; she getting increasingly pissy & wobble-headed at me.

After several minutes & MAJOR attitude, it turned out that when she input my info to the Moneygram computer, it came up with two companies I had paid using their service... American Honda Finance & the student loan bank. Well, without paying attention, she just clicked Honda because it came up first. No wonder the account numbers didn't match... she was looking at another freaking COMPANY!!!

She obviously felt silly, but instead of apologizing, she got even more pissy. I calmly said, 'see, was it really worth getting all attitudey for?' She about leaped over the counter at me, but her boss was right there. Oy. I'd be miserable if I worked there too.

I think that these huge chains need to get off their fucking asses and learn how to do their fucking jobs, at one of the taco bells in my area i have not gotten satisfaction EVER they always fuck something up i now regularly pull in the a parking spot right after i go thru the drive-thru and check to make sure they got it right (which they never have EVER and i go there ALOT) something is always missing, the wrong item or the drink is like super soapy and watered down. And theres also a mcdonalds the is also the same way i mean today i went to micky'd's and got 3 cookies and 2 dbl cheese burgers and they fucked that up, first they gave me a big bag with just the cookies in it then the charged me wrong (it was 3 cookies for $1 but it came up as 1.47 [because its 59 cents per cookie if you buy just 1 or 2]) and i kept insisting that i was right and the bitch kept saying its just tax well i did some really quick math in my head and tax on $3 does not come out to $.87 thank you very much and also on the recipt it said

2 dlb chsburgers-2.00
3 chchp cookies-1.47
tax- (thrity-something cents)

and i showed it to her but she was just like whatever and just walked away. I would have fucking started yelling and getting bitchy but it was only $.47 but if you think how many 47 cents they actually make extra i think thats bullshit. Oh and ALSO the guy at the drive thru order box said the total came to $3.30 or something and then when i got to the window he said $3.80 something....if you cant fucking do your job right then gtfo stupid cock's, the girl was some rich and preppy looking whore who probably was forced into the job by her parents and doesnt even need the money....



I CANT FUCKING STAND THE STATE OF THE WORLD RIGHT NOW. Our president doesn't 'believe' in the environment corporations and conglomerates are controling the contry. OMG it pissed me off so damn much. we just had a vote to see if super wal-mart could move into our city and it passed with idiots saying "well im poor so if i have to go to 1 shop instead 2 diff shops to get my stuff then well maybe i can keep my Hummer and still be able to send my kids to harvard because of the 30 cents im saving in gas every week."
