I was just smoking a joint out of my bedroom window as I was talking to my friend on the phone. When our conversation ended and we hung up I stayed there to finish the joint, and realised that my hearing was intensified to the point that even the smallest sound felt like it was shaking my brain. I could hear children playing, seemingly from miles away, though i'm not totally sure. I could hear angry shouts from some and screams mixed with laughter from the others. After a while I realised I could also hear music; maybe a CD playing in a bedroom somewhere. Again it sounded like it was coming from miles away, or maybe it was close but really quiet. If I concentrated I could almost hear the entire song, every instrument, but otherwise I could only hear the drum beat. When I 'mixed' both sounds (as opposed to selectively hearing only one or the other) I felt like I was in the book 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding. True story.

Hah, my mum gets pissed if my friends call past 10:30 or 11 (i'm not good enough for a cell ;)) and I was real baked..my friend was calling his phone cause he lost it, and I swore I heard her yelling and shit about not calling past a certain time, and I was flipping out...turns out no one was talking. That's the only time I've really heard shit though, made me scared. :p

As soon as I saw the title of this thread, I knew it was gunna be some kind of stoned rambaling, or even someone on shrooms. Anyway, I've never had the enhanced hearing, but I occassionaly can feel everything that's going on in my body, heart lungs working etc.

I don't think it necessarily enhances your hearing as much as it makes you more aware of what's going on... I think maybe you just focus a lot better on one thing.

I have this theory about weed, see if you back me up on it: When you're sober, your mind s able to handle several things at the same time, but you don't really focus on one thing. When you're high, it's a lot harde to think of several things at the same time, however you can focus much more intensly on one thing. So, if you're focused on your hearing, you'll be able to pick out more sounds in your environment than when you'r sober...

It's just a theory :D

this is true i think. and weed hightens all your sences...atleast for me anyway.
